HR Business Partner – North Region (Flexible Location)

We are looking for an experienced and credible HR Business Partner to support our North Region.

📍 Location & Mobility

  • Flexible location within the North of the UK
  • Travel required across our North Service Centres from Manchester to Scotland and Northern Ireland.
  • Travel required to other areas of the UK, including our Head Office near Heathrow
  • Company car provided

About the Role

As a key member of the HR function, you will act as a trusted partner to senior leaders- balancing challenge, coaching, and support to enhance people performance and contribute to strategic business outcomes. You will work across a broad HR portfolio, supporting up to five senior leaders and approximately 800 employees within our Operations function.


🛠 Key Responsibilities

Employee Relations

  • Provide expert guidance on complex people issues
  • Manage and interpret ER case data to identify trends
  • Deliver ER and employment law training
  • Partner with internal and external legal advisors
  • Build strong relationships with Employee Representatives

Talent, Development & Succession

  • Lead and support key performance and talent processes
  • Partner with Resourcing to attract diverse and high‑quality talent
  • Coach and mentor individuals to support capability growth
  • Facilitate development sessions and training interventions

Organisation Development & Change

  • Deliver people‑focused improvements aligned to business strategy
  • Support organisational change programmes, including restructures, relocations, and TUPE
  • Identify skill gaps and develop capability‑building solutions
  • Lead and support HR and cross‑functional projects

People Data & Digitalisation

  • Champion digital HR tools and ways of working
  • Analyse people data and provide insight-driven recommendations
  • Produce KPI reporting to support business decision‑making

Wellbeing, Health & Safety

  • Advocate for and promote our Safety-First culture
  • Manage long‑term sickness and wellbeing cases
  • Collaborate with healthcare partners and Mental Health First Aiders

Employee Engagement & Experience

  • Lead EOS and GPTW planning, action tracking, and follow-up
  • Support recognition programmes and engagement initiatives
  • Provide insights and feedback to senior leaders

Compensation & Benefits

  • Support annual salary review and bonus processes
  • Provide guidance on compensation and benefits policies

Stakeholder Management

  • Build strong and credible relationships with senior leaders
  • Provide coaching and challenge to enhance leadership capability
  • Collaborate effectively with HR Centres of Expertise and DHL Group colleagues

🔍 Candidate Profile

Experience

  • 6–8+ years in HR or a people-focused leadership role
  • HR Business Partnering experience (desirable)
  • Experience in a corporate environment (desirable)

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or CIPD Level 5 (essential)
  • CIPD Level 7 or master’s degree (desirable)

Skills & Attributes

  • Strong influencing and communication skills
  • In-depth knowledge of employee relations and employment law
  • Resilient, confident, and effective in complex environments
  • Continuous improvement mindset
  • Full UK driving licence
