Contract: Temporary – 12 month Fixed term contract

Hours: Part time – Monday – Friday, 08: 30 – 13: 30
Location: East Midlands Airport, DE74 2TR


Support Critical Time‑Definite Operations Across the Network

We are offering an exciting opportunity for a motivated and detail‑focused individual to join as a Despatch Agent.


In this key operational support role, you will ensure that time‑definite, ad‑hoc collection requests are accurately managed and communicated to the appropriate courier teams. You will play a central role in monitoring data flows, resolving discrepancies, and supporting Service Centres to deliver outstanding customer service across the network.

What You’ll Be Doing

Coordinating Operational Activity & Data Accuracy

  • Manage and monitor the flow of collection requests to ensure they are received and completed on time.
  • Produce and maintain accurate exception reports to improve allocation performance.
  • Support the management of reference data packs, ensuring updates are applied and communicated effectively.
  • Identify and escalate system defects or data issues to support continuous improvement.


Driving Customer & Stakeholder Support

  • Act as a key point of contact for couriers, Service Centres, Customer Service teams and customers.
  • Handle queries, resolve issues and provide timely updates to ensure customer expectations are met.
  • Maintain strong relationships across operations and support functions.
  • Safeguard revenue by ensuring all ad‑hoc collections are completed or resolved appropriately.
  • Manage incoming calls professionally, balancing operational and administrative tasks effectively.


Supporting Operational Performance & Problem Resolution

  • Track and resolve operational discrepancies, taking ownership through to resolution.
  • Support resource availability by working closely with Service Centres during peak periods.
  • Ensure accurate allocation and communication of collection updates across the network.
  • Contribute to maintaining consistent operational performance across multiple Service Centres.

Skills & Experience

  • Experience within Network Operations or a similar operational environment (preferred).
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Good knowledge of operational processes and service centre workflows.
  • Experience working with IT systems and databases.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office tools.
  • GCSEs (A–C) in core subjects or equivalent.
