We are looking for a driven and passionate Chef De Partie to join our busy team at the extremely popular BABA Restaurant in Edinburgh!

BABA restaurant sits within Kimpton Charlotte Square Hotel and is an exciting mix of mezze, charcoal grill dishes and a unique cocktail and wine list. Popular with both locals and those from far-and-wide visiting Edinburgh, we can host between 250 and 400 covers a night. This role perfect for those who love a thrilling, fast-paced environment… you can be plating up to 1000 dishes a night between the team of up to 5 chefs each shift!

As a Chef De Partie at BABA Restaurant, you will be contracted to 40 hours per week guaranteed, spaced over 3 and a half days– giving you more days off to spend doing what you love. We are lucky to have an open kitchen with a charcoal grill, allowing you to work within a large kitchen team with plenty opportunity to learn and grow within our organisation (and the perk of working alongside our talented Executive and Head Chefs!).

Alongside your hourly rate, we pay all hours worked overtime PLUS generous tronc paid on a monthly basis…

What do you need to be a Chef De Partie? We are looking for someone who has…

  • Availability to work 40 hours over 3 to 4 shifts (starts from 9am and finishes up to 11pm)
  • Passion for providing excellent culinary experiences and experience working in various sections of the kitchen
  • Experience working as a CDP in a 4/5* Hotel or restaurant (ideally 2 years as a minimum)
  • City & Guilds 706/1 or NVQ equivalent
  • Drive to produce results, we work together within the Kimpton family to continue to provide our guests with extremely personal experiences and human connection.
  • A warm and authentic personality, with a can-do attitude and commitment to service.
  • Overall, you will be willing to work within our team to embrace our service and delight our guests!
