The InterContinental Hotels Group® at Dubai Festival City consists of four hotels. These include the luxury and lifestyle brand InterContinental, the lavish long-stay InterContinental Residence Suites, the premium Crowne Plaza, and the essentials Holiday Inn & Suites. In addition to over 1, 600 rooms, the cluster boasts a selection of 16 restaurants and bars, an impressive 3, 800-square-metre Event Centre across two levels, the 5, 000-square-metre Festival Arena by InterContinental, the luxurious Spa InterContinental, and state-of-the-art gym and swimming pool facilities. A little taste of your day-to-day:

  • In the absence of a manager, conducts shift briefings to ensure hotel activities and operational requirements are known.
  • Endeavour to resolve all complaints during shift and logs all complaints in log book for further follow up.
  • Supervise cash handling and banking procedures.
  • Prepare daily banking and cash flow reports.
  • Establish and instruct staff in cash security procedures.
  • Tackle irregular payments.
  • Supervise the maintenance of service equipment.
  • Monitor standards of guest facilities and services.
  • Control stock and monitor security procedures.
  • Assist with menu and wine list creation.
  • Monitoring mini bar in the rooms regularly.
  • Inspecting storage areas for organization and proper use of FIFO.
  • Supervise outlet service.
  • May assist with other duties as assigned.

What we need from you:

  • Communication skills – guests and colleagues will need to come to you with concerns as well as compliments, so you’ll be easy to talk to.
  • Planning and analyses making skills.
  • Fluency in the English language - extra language skills would be great, but not essential.
  • Your Time management skills will be important to know how to prioritize tasks under pressure.
  • You’ll have basic skills of Microsoft Word/Excel.
  • Flexibility - night, weekend and holiday shifts are all part of the job
  • Experience - ideally you’ll have spent at least one year in a similar position in a 5 star property
  • You’ll have a high school diploma or qualification. A college or university degree would be a bonus, but not essential
  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment
