Description:

Primary Functions

  • Translating business goals & product requirements into actionable development plans.
  • Ensuring that development projects are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Strategic planning, direction and control of product development activities; as well as technical input into the overall business strategy.
  • Communicating strategy developments, providing ongoing executive updates, prioritizing initiatives, and escalating roadblocks to executive leadership.
  • Communicating development progress and issues to management and across the organization.
  • Managing both onsite & offshore development teams.
  • Proactively fostering and building channels of communication across business units to ensure collaboration and achievement of organizational objectives.
  • Providing technical direction and guidance for all product development needs throughout the organization.
  • Continually evaluating the organizational structure and current technology as a means to enhance productivity and implementing appropriate changes.
  • Communicating industry trends and emerging new technologies that can provide the organization with a competitive advantage.
  • Capturing ideas and identifying opportunities that can be researched and explored for feasibility through contact with customers; initiating industry comparisons and conducting competitive benchmarking.
  • Managing strategic partnerships with vendors and suppliers.
  • Performing a full range of leadership responsibilities which may include but not be limited to: interviewing, hiring, coaching and developing employees, assigning and directing work, driving performance management and managing department budgets.
  • Candidate must actively conceive, develop and drive all critical product road map offerings to position the ADS division for long term success and minimize attrition risks from competitors who claim to have a more complete product
  • Ideal candidate must be an effective liaison between the ADS customer base and the internal ADS departments (i.e. Sales, Professional Services and Support Services)
  • Collaborate with the executive team to identify market opportunities, explore new technologies and develop innovative product roadmaps.
  • Ability to communicate technical vision/strategy in clear and concise terms discernible to non-technical personnel is essential
  • Manage strategic partnerships with vendors and suppliers.
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Travel as required based on business needs

Qualifications

  • 5+ Years in a client-facing product strategy or consulting/sales delivery environment
  • A documented history of success in driving product strategy for vertical market software solutions within the healthcare space
  • Previous experience building/pivoting R& D organizations for operational success from a P& L perspective
  • Experience managing, leading and developing product management, software quality, and development teams & staff
  • Four year degree in computer science, engineering, business or a related discipline.
  • Proficient in operational and financial aspects of a software company.
