Description:

Nemours is seeking a Therapeutic Tech (Acute Therapy Services), Full-Time, to join our Nemours Children's Health team in Wilmington, Delaware.

Work Schedule: 30 hours/week, Monday-Friday, 9: 00am-3: 00pm

To organize, prepare and assist in the delivery of patient care services for a designated Therapeutic and Rehabilitative Services program area.

Assumes primary responsibility to prepare and maintain therapeutic treatment and patient care areas within safety and infection control guidelines.
  • Demonstrates proficiency in the care of all ages: pediatric, adolescents, and adults.
  • Maintains confidentiality related to conversation, medical records, treatment plans, etc.
  • Follows basic medical precautions for each patient.
  • Assists therapist/nursing personnel where designated support is needed (ie. transfers, ambulation, activities of daily living etc.)
  • Performs designated pre-planned patient care treatment activities which may include monitoring patients' independent exercise programs, functional and gross motor activities, and aquatic therapy under the direct supervision of a licensed therapist and within the constraints of professional licensure laws.
  • Notifies appropriate healthcare team member when concerns arise.
  • Maintains equipment, cleans, organizes, and maintains treatment and storage areas within assigned program.
  • Maintains regulatory standards on department equipment, crash cart, etc. per hospital policy. Completes daily/monthly checks and logs.
  • Uses machines and tools in a responsible manner adhering to safety practices as outlined by the manufacturer and OSHA standards.
  • Assists in the organization and implementation of volunteer, wellness, and summer group programs, etc.
  • Orders and stocks supplies: medical, nonmedical, nutritional, self-care, splinting, office supplies and linens within budgetary guidelines.
  • Answers phones, schedules appointments and performs patient check in as needed.
  • Attends monthly program meetings.
  • Completes mandatory in-service training yearly, which may include, but is not limited to safety, infection control, HIPPA, corporate compliance, program specific respiratory training, and CPR which is completed biannually.

Job Requirements
  • High School Diploma required.
  • Minimum of 6 months experience required.
  • American Heart Association BLS Certification required upon hire.
