Nemours is hiring a Sr Director, Outreach & Provider Relations in Wilmington, DE. This is a full-time position.

Nemours is seeking a Senior Director, Outreach & Provider Relations to join our Nemours Children's Health team in Wilmington, Delaware.

The Senior Director of Outreach and Provider Relations serves as a strategic leader responsible for developing, directing, and executing an integrated physician outreach and provider relations strategy to support growth, access, and alignment across Nemours Children's Health, Delaware Valley and its referral network. This role oversees a team of physician liaisons and provides matrix leadership to outreach coordinators embedded within key service lines.

The Senior Director partners closely with physician leaders, service line executives, operations, marketing, and data optimization team members to expand referral relationships, strengthen community engagement, and enhance the reputation of Nemours Children's Health, Delaware Valley as a trusted pediatric service partner.

Essential Functions
  • Strategic Leadership & Program Development
    • Develop and execute a comprehensive, data driven outreach and provider relations strategy that supports hospital growth priorities, specialty service line development, and access goals.
    • Establish clear objectives, performance metrics, and analytics to measure outreach effectiveness, referral trends, and relationship impact.
    • Align outreach strategies with organizational strategic plans, market dynamics, and evolving pediatric care needs.
  • Physician Liaison Team Leadership
    • Provide direct oversight, coaching, and performance management for Physician Liaisons.
    • Ensure Physician Liaisons effectively plan, coordinate, and execute outreach initiatives focused on community physicians, referring partners, and potential new referral sources.
    • Standardize outreach processes, messaging, and reporting to ensure consistency, quality, and regulatory compliance.
  • Matrix Management of Outreach Coordinators
    • Provide dotted-line leadership to Outreach Coordinators supporting service lines.
    • Ensure Physician Liaisons and Outreach Coordinators effectively plan, coordinate, and execute outreach initiatives focused on community physicians, referring partners, and potential new referral sources.
    • Collaborate with service line leaders to align outreach activities with specialty-specific goals while ensuring consistency with enterprise outreach standards.
    • Facilitate regular communication, shared planning, and performance reviews in partnership with service line leadership.
  • Provider Engagement & Relationship Management
    • Serve as a senior leader and ambassador to community physicians, advanced practice providers, health systems, and other referral sources.
    • Cultivate trusted, long-term relationships by understanding referral patterns, clinical needs, and access challenges.
    • Identify opportunities to improve referral experience, communication pathways, and continuity of care for pediatric patients.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration
    • Partner with marketing, communications, clinical operations, access, and quality teams to align outreach efforts with branding, patient access, and service excellence initiatives.
    • Support the launch and growth of new specialty programs, clinical services, and physician recruitment initiatives through targeted outreach strategies.
  • Data, Reporting & Continuous Improvement
    • Establish data-driven referral management accountability by measuring conversion outcomes, strengthening referring provider confidence, and ensuring consistent translation of demand into completed care and organizational value.
    • Use data to objectively understand and drive referral volumes, market share, physician engagement metrics, and outreach ROI.
    • Translate data insights into actionable plans for continuous improvement and strategic growth.
    • Prepare and present executive-level reports and recommendations for senior leadership.
    • Business owner of Salesforce responsible for improving then maintaining the integrity of referral provider profiles and contact logs (phone, in-person and event).

Job Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, business administration, marketing, or a related field is required. Master's degree (MBA, MHA, MPH, or similar) is preferred.
  • Minimum of 8-10 years of progressive experience in provider relations, physician outreach, healthcare strategy, or business development, preferably in a pediatric or academic medical center setting is required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of people leadership experience, including managing field-based or matrixed teams is required.
  • Demonstrated success in developing and executing outreach strategies that drive referral growth and provider engagement is required.
  • Experience working with pediatric specialty service lines such as orthopedics, cardiology, maternal-fetal or advanced delivery care preferred.
  • Strong understanding of referral dynamics, physician practice operations, and healthcare compliance considerations preferred.
