Description:
Nemours is seeking a Behavior Analyst to join our Nemours Children's Health team in Wilmington, DE.
The Board Certified Behavior Analyst ("BCBA") is an integral member of the interdisciplinary clinical team, providing support to patients with unique developmental and/or behavioral needs by designing and conducting treatment plans based on functional behavior assessments. Their role focuses on helping patients adapt to and manage their medical care within the hospital environment. The Behavior Analyst trains and coaches staff, families and caregivers on the implementation of behavioral strategies as part of a comprehensive, neurodiversity-affirming plan. They coordinate care in conjunction with the Psychiatry Consult and Liaison Team and collaborates effectively with other disciplines. The BCBA brings demonstrated expertise in the principles and practice of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), in alignment with the current BACB Task List and the Ethics Code for Behavior Analysts.
Essential Functions
1. Conduct a range of behavioral assessments (i.e. functional behavior assessments, including functional analyses as needed, treatment assessments) and adapt them to the hospital environment.
2. Develop function-based behavior support plans in the hospital setting by recommending and implementing function-based strategies to address behavioral concerns.
3. Provide training and coaching for staff, caregivers, and other treatment team members on behaviorally-based treatment strategies throughout the hospital stay and in support of a successful discharge.
4. Monitor fidelity of staff-implemented behavior support plans.
5. Develop treatment plans that support emotionally and physically safe care for patients and associates.
6. Provide clinical supervision and oversight to Registered Behavior Technicians, inclusive of competency assessment and performance feedback and reviews.
7. Disseminate and facilitate the use of tools from the Autism Friendly Hospital Initiative (e.g., web-based trainings, adaptive care plans, sensory toolkits, etc.).
8. Document in EPIC progress notes and reports in a clear, concise, efficient manner.
9. Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and any other meetings required.
10. Coordinate care with Psychiatry Consult and Liaison Team and collaborate with other disciplines (e.g., Nursing, Psychology).
Requirements
Master's Degree
Board Certified Behavior Analyst Certification issued from the Behavior Analyst Certification Board
8-hour supervision training, approved by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board
Must have a minimum of three (3) years working as a BCBA or in a relevant field
