Job DescriptionAs a Data Management Lead, VP on the CIB Chief Data Office (CDO), you will manage a growing team recognized for its thought leadership and execution excellence to support Data Retention and Destruction Risk for the Commercial & Investment Bank (CIB). The CIB Chief Data Office is a business-centric organization that focuses on the delivery of high quality and compliant data to our internal clients, for them to realize its true value. The CIB Data Retention and Destruction (R& D) Team provides central oversight and governance of R& D Data Risks in accordance with Firmwide Data Risk Management Policy and Standard. The R& D Team partner closely with Firmwide Data Retention and Destruction (FDRD) Team to provide consultative expertise and guidance on Standard and Procedures. We serve as a central point of contact, subject matter experts, for CIB sub-Line of Businesses (sub-LOBs) for queries and understanding of R& D Data Risk metrics. The R& D Team assist with the dissemination of R& D related information including metrics, regulatory retention changes and policy updates.
Job Responsibilities: - Manage the CIB CDO R& D Team in the day to day governance of Data R& D risk for CIB leveraging Firmwide Metrics
- Influence Information Owners to resolve identified non-compliant data issues in accordance with Firmwide Policy and Standard
- Coordinate the management and escalation of Data R& D risks to senior management and/or sub-LOB CDOs
- Create materials for presentation to senior management, key stakeholders, or other data pillars
- Drive innovation in Data R& D governance processes by creating value through tooling and automation, or other opportunities to improve processes
- Manage and prioritize multiple projects while ensuring timely delivery of high-impact initiatives
- Collaborate with cross functional teams (Technology, Compliance, Legal, etc.) on tasks related to Data R& D
- Develop and bring valuable insights on Data Retention and Destruction standards and procedures to the leadership team
- Stay informed on regulatory developments impacting data governance
Required Qualifications, Skills and Capabilities: - 10+ years of financial services industry experience with demonstrated appreciation and understanding of data governance
- Experience managing performance of small to medium size team(s)
- Strong data governance, data quality and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated ability to interact and work effectively with senior management and other stakeholders to support the goals of the business
- Proven ability to execute via successful internal partnerships - with the ability to influence people at all levels across a broad variety of job functions
- Effective communicator with excellent written communication skills
- Experience navigating and mobilizing resources across a large organization
- Ability to coordinate and prioritize multiple concurrent tasks
- Good risk awareness & control minded
- Excellent PowerPoint and Excel skills
- Attention to detail and ability to work independently
- Ability to execute tasks under aggressive targets and effectively manage changes in planning
Preferred Qualifications, Skills and Capabilities: - Knowledge and understanding of a broad set of CIB products and processes is a plus
- Desire to create structure for data and drive results and utilization of this structure in order to improve the JPM framework/environment
- Strong data analysis, data management and problem solving skills. Business analysis and reporting skills are a plus
- Demonstrated interest in emerging technology and "Big Data" in the financial services industry
