As a Strategic Analytics Associate in our Card Services Risk group, you will support design, implementation and monitoring of the underwriting strategy, while working closely with business partners to optimize the overall product strategy.

Job Responsibilities
  • Identify and implement world-class Underwriting strategies while ensuring that all aspects of credit, legal, reputational and operational risks are considered.
  • Develop and maintain periodic analytics to provide management with full insight into emerging trends, the quality of the originated accounts, and make changes to the credit strategy.
  • Attain a detailed understanding of key performance metrics and profitability drivers, enabling the delivery of insights encompassing the full account lifecycle.
  • Conduct ad hoc analytics and contribute to various projects representing Risk Management.
  • Work both independently and collaboratively to complete analytical tasks; starting with problem identification, analysis of large & complex data and formulating concise conclusions with actionable recommendations.
  • Communicate with Executive stakeholders on risk initiatives and solution discussion.
  • Develop deep and productive working relationship with the leaders across Marketing, Finance, Risk Execution, Legal and Compliance.

Required Qualifications, Capabilities and Skills
  • Bachelor's Degree in a quantitative discipline
  • 4+ years of experience in a quantitative role (statistics, econometrics, or similar quantitative field) or Master's degree and 2+ years of risk management
  • Proficient in performing analytics using SAS or equivalent analytical tool and ability to query large amounts of data using SQL and transform the raw data into actionable management information
  • Good analytical mindset and strong problem solving skills
  • Ability to logically structure analyses using strong analytical, interpretive, and problem-solving skills and translate into sound business conclusions
  • Ability to partner and influence across organizations to deliver new capabilities and changes

Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities and Skills
  • Advanced understanding of SAS, SAS Enterprise Miner or other decision tree software
  • Familiarity with current analytical techniques, e.g. regression, decision trees and segmentation techniques
  • Familiarity with risk analytic techniques
  • Experience in card risk management
