Job summary
As a Vice President in Deal Set Up and Funding, you will lead and execute complex syndicated loan transactions through closing and funding, serving as a senior individual contributor and team leader. You will coordinate with internal partners to ensure accurate deal setup, fee and payment processing, and timely resolution of post-close exceptions. You will also mentor peers and help elevate controls and client service outcomes.
Job responsibilities
- Serve as a senior subject matter expert for deal setup and funding, providing guidance on complex syndicated loan transactions
- Partner with internal teams to interpret and process loan documentation for new deals and amendments with accuracy and timeliness
- Coordinate closing-related fees and principal payments, ensuring completeness, accuracy, and adherence to controls
- Manage and prioritize a pipeline of assigned transactions to meet funding and closing timelines
- Review and reconcile exception reporting for recently closed transactions, identifying root causes and driving improvements
- Provide training, mentorship, and approvals to support team performance and risk discipline
- Maintain strong working relationships with internal partners to support a consistent client experience
- Escalate issues and risks appropriately, proposing solutions that improve quality and reduce breaks
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- 3+ years of syndicated loan experience
- 3+ years of Loan IQ experience
- Commercial banking experience
- Demonstrated ability to lead workstreams as a senior individual contributor and guide peers through complex transactions
- Strong attention to detail with a focus on quality, controls, and operational risk management
- Ability to manage competing priorities and deliver reliably in a deadline-driven environment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to influence across teams
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, or a related field
- Strong understanding of finance and loan products, including syndicated loans
- Exceptional interpersonal skills and ability to build effective partnerships across functions
