Description:

Join INVISTA as a Chemical Process Engineer at our Seaford, Delaware site. Since 1939, the INVISTA Performance Solutions Seaford site continues to be a world class manufacturing facility with ~ 135 employees, which manufactures Nylon 6, 6 staple fiber.

As a Process Engineer at INVISTA, you will Provide "Recognized and Generally Accepted Good Engineering Practices" (RAGAGEP) to drive effective and efficient change.

An ideal candidate will be a solid team player with the ability to work independently in an efficient and effective manner creating value-adding results, dedicated to excellence and continuous improvement, and sense of urgency to achieve site objectives.

What You Will Do
  • Learning and owning the site's polymer extrusion process.
  • Driving site transformational efforts through risk adjusted economics, engineering controls, and best practices.
  • Evaluating and optimizing production equipment for improving efficiency.
  • Working with the team to ensure the site maintains robust raw material ingredient inspection process.
  • Serving as a R& D resource to identify new process technologies/ engineering controls that can be leveraged for operational improvements.
  • Communicating and working with various operational, environmental, maintenance, and engineering levels in a team environment, yet be self-motivated and accomplish individual goals and commitments.
  • Learning and understanding current resource systems (i.e., Pi Vision, Power BI, Seeq) for identifying key process indicators/ metrics and effectively communicate associated trends to internal customers and stakeholders.
  • Utilizing statistical process control methodologies to make data driven process decisions.
  • Demonstrate advanced technical skills, attention to detail, analytical, math skills, and ability to quickly assess and solve problems.
  • Utilizing technology tools such as MS Outlook Microsoft Office Experience (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Projects) and other technology platforms (i.e., Power BI, PQM, LMS, Minitab, etc.)
  • Managing and driving effective change initiatives.


Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
  • Bachelor's Degree or higher in Chemical Engineering or STEM discipline and two (2) or more years' engineering experience
  • Experience with designed experiments and/or process simulations
  • Experience with computer-based data analysis methodologies


What Will Put You Ahead
  • Applied experience with polymer composition and extrusion processing
  • Experience in a Manufacturing or Petrochemical industry
  • Experience in Nylon/ Polyester industry
  • Experience applying or using Six Sigma/ Lean manufacturing
  • Project management experience
  • Applied experience with Design of Experiment (DOE)
  • Experience supervising or leading a team
