Description:
POSITION PURPOSE
The Maintenance Technician is a member of the Maintenance and Reliability team and typically works under the direction of a senior technician. The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing preventive maintenance (PMs), facility work orders, and equipment repairs in a safe manner, ensuring the correct processes and procedures are followed, and all the work is documented. The Maintenance Technician works as a member of the larger plant maintenance team and may be assigned to any open work orders or projects as directed. While performing this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and walk up to 90% of the time. The employee will also be required to bend, stoop, kneel, squat, sit and reach on a regular basis during a normal working shift. This position requires frequent lifting up to 50 pounds. Work can be done at ground level, in confined spaces, or at elevations. Exposures include elevated noise levels associated with a manufacturing environment, fluctuations in temperature ambient conditions as well as intermittent exposure to the weather in and about the yard and dock areas. Working hours can include any of three shifts and generally are scheduled for forty hours a week. Weekend overtime is to be expected.
