Position Purpose
The Maintenance Technician is a key member of the Maintenance and Reliability team and typically works under the direction of a Senior Technician. This position is responsible for performing preventive maintenance (PMs), facility work orders, and equipment repairs in a safe, timely, and quality-focused manner. The Maintenance Technician ensures all procedures are followed correctly, work is fully documented, and safety is always prioritized.
This role supports plant-wide maintenance needs and may be assigned to any open work orders or projects. Principal Accountabilities
• Own personal and team safety by following all safety rules and using proper PPE.
• Complete PMs, work orders, and equipment repair safely and accurately to prevent downtime or damage.
• Meet daily work order and project milestones as assigned.
• Learn fundamentals of mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and power transmission systems.
• Perform daily activities including machine walk-throughs, reviewing discrepancies, and communicating equipment status.
• Execute bench work such as rebuilds, cleaning, operational checks, and upgrades.
• Observe and learn basic maintenance on pumps, compressors, piping systems, and related equipment.
• Work from technical manuals, specifications, drawings, and schematics.
• Perform seasonal and facility-related maintenance, including during non-standard hours.
• Continuously develop skills to support high-quality standards; may train others on basic tasks.
• Assist other areas and teams as needed, demonstrating strong teamwork skills.
• Perform other tasks as assigned.

Knowledge & Skills
Required Experience
• 1–3 years of experience in industrial equipment maintenance.
Technical Skills
• Ability to troubleshoot basic electrical issues using schematics and a digital multimeter.
• Understanding of mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and power transmission systems.
• Competence in reading blueprints, reference drawings, and OEM manuals.
• Skills in facility repair (painting, drywall, plumbing).
• Welding, milling, and lathe operation experience.
• Safe operation of nail guns, panel saws, miter saws, and other power tools.
• Ability to operate material handling equipment (pallet jacks, lift trucks, jib cranes, gantry cranes).
• Ability to operate a man lift safely.
Communication & Documentation Skills
• Strong written communication skills; able to document processes clearly and professionally.
• Effective oral communication skills for interacting with co-workers and, when needed, customers.
• Communicate effectively with both production and maintenance teams.
Mathematical Skills
• Proficiency in basic math (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
• Ability to perform fractional computations and convert fractions to decimals.
• Ability to read tape measure and perform related calculations.
Additional Competencies
• Understanding basic LEAN principles (5S, Kanban, one-piece flow, continuous improvement).
• Ability to correctly complete in-process inspections and required paperwork.
• Familiarity with all safety requirements related to the tasks performed.
• Basic computer skills, including locating instructions and forms on shared databases.

Working Conditions
• Regular standing and walking up to 90% of the shift.
• Frequent bending, kneeling, stooping, squatting, sitting, and reaching.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds frequently.
• Work performed at ground level, in confined spaces, or at elevated positions.
• Exposure to elevated noise levels typical of a manufacturing environment.
• Exposure to fluctuating temperatures and occasional outdoor conditions near yard or dock areas.
• Work hours may include any of three shifts and typically total 40 hours per week.
• Weekend overtime is expected based on operational needs.

BAC Hiring Compensation Range: Up to $31/hr
