Description:

We are looking for Senior Tender Engineer to join our team in Qatar to own the end-to-end tendering/quotation process for Services opportunities, delivering accurate, compliant, and timely technical-commercial proposals that strengthen customer satisfaction.

Key responsibilities:
  • Analyze customer requirements and RFQs/RFPs; clarify scope, assumptions, and deviations early
  • Lead customer meetings/workshops for scope clarifications and solution preparation
  • Respond to customer queries and provide timely technical clarifications during the tender phase
  • Prepare comprehensive quotations based on schematic/single line diagrams (SLDs) and customer specifications
  • Configure and price solutions using Schneider Electric quoting tools and relevant business systems
  • Submit complete tender proposals within deadlines; conduct follow-ups and support negotiations
  • Support contract/terms alignment by coordinating inputs and approvals from internal subject matter experts (SMEs) and required approvers
  • Support tendering governance for modernization initiatives and Services offers
  • Recommend solutions that enhance safety, resiliency, and operational efficiency
  • Coordinate inputs across sales, engineering, project execution, procurement, and finance to close gaps quickly
  • Ensure a smooth handover to the project management/execution team, including documentation of scope, assumptions, risks, and key commitments
  • Review customer specifications in detail and ensure adherence to compliance standards of key customers and relevant governmental entities, in line with country regulations
  • Maintain high quality and traceability in offers (documentation, approvals, compliance, risk escalation)
  • Use trackers/dashboards to drive fast reporting, follow-up, and delivery discipline
Required qualifications & experience:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent)
  • Track record delivering quotations involving MV/LV electrical distribution equipment
  • Single line diagrams and schematics: strong ability to interpret and validate SLDs, GA drawings, wiring/control schematics, and typical protection diagrams
  • Switchgear and distribution: working knowledge of MV switchgear, LV switchboards, transformers, busbar systems, capacitor banks/PFC, UPS (where applicable), and distribution accessories
  • Protection & control: understanding of protection relays, CT/VT selection concepts, protection functions/coordination basics, and how settings impact tender scope
  • Metering & power quality: knowledge of energy metering architectures, power quality measurement concepts, and audit/assessment scope for recurring services
  • Monitoring & automation: working knowledge of Power Monitoring Systems, SCADA, automation, RTU, and industrial communication basics (e.g., Modbus/IEC awareness where relevant)
  • Cyber/segmentation awareness (tendering level): ability to scope basic requirements for network segmentation, gateways, data acquisition, and remote connectivity constraints in customer environments
  • Retrofit/modernization engineering judgment: ability to assess and quote brownfield upgrades (replacement strategy, outage constraints, interface compatibility, panel modifications, migration approach, testing/commissioning scope)
  • Recurring services alignment: ability to position and scope service plans (preventive maintenance, condition-based monitoring, remote services, periodic audits, calibration/testing) with clear deliverables and exclusions
  • Site assessment capability: understands what to capture from site surveys/audits (installed base identification, nameplate data, as-built gaps, access constraints, safety requirements) and translate into a compliant offer scope
  • Standards & compliance literacy: ability to review customer/regulatory requirements and reflect them in the offer (testing certificates, documentation, inspection requirements, local codes/standards applicability)
  • Strong tendering discipline: interpret RFQs/RFPs, build compliant offers, and document assumptions/exclusions/clarifications
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
Required skills & behaviors:

  • Highly organized and systematic; strong planning, prioritization, and multi-tasking under tight deadlines
  • High attention to detail with strong commitment to quality output
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, under pressure, and with minimum supervision
  • Digital mindset: confident using systems/tools and building/using dashboards/trackers (e.g., Excel/Power BI/Salesforce/ERP) for efficient reporting and quick deliverables
  • Agility: adapts quickly to changing scope and priorities while protecting offer quality
  • Collaboration: team-oriented, proactive in supporting others, and able to work effectively across functions
  • Negotiation: able to align on scope trade-offs, clarifications, delivery terms, and commercial/technical choices to protect margin and reduce risk
  • 8 years proved experience in the field is minimum.
  • Based in Qatar
Preferred
  • PMP certification (or equivalent project management certification)
  • Strong hands-on experience in tender management, including end-to-end governance, stakeholder alignment, and deadline-driven execution
  • Hands-on experience working with Middle East market requirements and customer expectations
  • Proven ability to apply AI and relevant digital tools in daily work to increase efficiency (e.g., automation of reporting/analysis, faster bid turnaround, improved quality)
