Summary of responsibility:

The Payroll Coordinator is responsible for supporting the accurate and timely processing of payroll for approximately 1, 000 employees within a fast-paced CNC distribution and manufacturing environment. This entry-level role focuses heavily on payroll data entry, auditing, record maintenance, and administrative support to ensure compliance with company policies and applicable federal and state regulations.

This position requires strong attention to detail, confidentiality, and the ability to work effectively in a deadline-driven environment.

What You Will Contribute:
  • Accurately enter and maintain payroll data deductions, garnishments, one time changes, and benefit elections
  • Assist with semi-monthly payroll processing
  • Audit payroll reports prior to final submission
  • Maintain employee payroll files and ensure documentation compliance
  • Process employment verifications as necessary
  • Support year-end payroll activities including W-2 preparation and reconciliation
  • Assist with reporting for finance and leadership as needed
  • Respond to employee payroll-related inquiries in a professional and timely manner
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of payroll and employee information
  • Counsel with employees and supervisors concerning leave benefits and provide employees with accurate information on deductions from pay relating to absences, medical certification requirements, return-to-work dates, etc.

Qualifications & Competencies:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's degree in Accounting, Business, or related field preferred
  • 0-2 years of payroll, accounting, administrative, or data entry experience
  • Strong data entry skills with a high level of accuracy
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet strict deadlines
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Highly responsive with exceptional attention to detail and follow through
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise extreme discretion
  • Excellent problem solving/judgement skills
