The VP, HR Business Partner for Corporate Functions serves as the strategic HR advisor to the functional GXO executive team (GXT) and drives people-related strategies that strengthen organizational performance, leadership effectiveness, and enterprise capability. This role partners closely with all corporate functions to shape workforce strategy, elevate talent, and build organizational readiness for future growth.

A key focus of this role is leading the workforce enablement workstream as part of our Enterprise AI program, ensuring corporate functions are equipped, skilled, and organizationally prepared to adopt AI solutions that increase SG& A efficiency, improve decision-making, and support scalable business growth.

Position based onsite at our GXO facility in Greenwich, CT

25% travel nationally and internationally

What you'll do on a typical day:

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Business Partnership
  • Serve as the primary HR advisor to the corporate executive team, supporting strategic planning, org design, talent strategy, and leadership effectiveness across all corporate functions.
  • Translate business priorities into actionable people strategies that enhance performance, capability, and organizational health.
  • Act as a thought partner on culture, workforce planning, and change management.
Talent, Leadership & Organizational Development
  • Shape and execute talent strategies for executive succession, critical roles, and leadership pipeline development in partnership with global Talent CoE.
  • Drive initiatives that enhance capability, engagement, and performance across functions.
  • Influence organizational design efforts to create agile, cost-effective, and future-ready structures.
Change Leadership & Culture
  • Champion a modern, digital/AI-powered, and high-performance culture across corporate functions.
  • Coach senior leaders on transformation, leadership, and organizational dynamics.
  • Ensure effective communication, stakeholder alignment, and adoption of strategic enterprise initiatives.
AI-Driven Transformation & Future-of-Work Enablement
  • Partner with functional and digital leaders to define workforce implications of the enterprise AI strategy.
  • Lead the workforce enablement workstream for our Enterprise AI program for corporate functions, including capability building, change management, role redesign, and skills development.
  • Identify workforce risks and opportunities stemming from AI deployment and drive people-centric solutions to support scalable growth.
  • Enable leaders and teams to adopt new ways of working powered by automation, analytics, and generative AI.

What you need to succeed at GXO:

Qualifications
  • 15+ years of progressive HR leadership experience, including direct partnership with executive-level stakeholders.
  • Proven success driving transformation in complex, global, matrixed organizations.
  • Strong expertise in organizational design, workforce strategy, and leadership development.
  • Strategic thinker with exceptional influencing skills, business acumen, and a bias for action.
  • Concrete experience with measurable outcomes leading or supporting AI-enabled process improvements, workforce enablement, and/or workforce transformation.
  • Innovative and curious by nature, not shying away from controlled risk-taking and with a keen interest in role-modeling AI adoption.
