Summary: As a member of the HR Operations & Strategy (HR& S) organization and Global Workplace/Real Estate (GWP) Leadership team, the GWP Design & Experience Leader will report directly to the Vice President of GWP. This role requires a highly experienced and motivated innovator to lead the global design of our physical workplace and desired experience of our physical workplace portfolio, which includes offices, clinics, and pharmacies. This role will be responsible for creating and implementing design strategies that enhance the overall workplace experience, improve hospitality functions, and align with our ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) and sustainability goals. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in workplace design, project management, and collaboration with both internal leaders and external partners.
Responsibilities: - Develop and implement a comprehensive global design strategy for our physical workplaces.
- Lead a team of design professionals and external partners to execute design projects that enhance the workplace experience.
- Ensure alignment of design strategies with the company's ESG and sustainability goals.
- Oversee the physical and experiential space design of global offices, clinics, and pharmacies to create functional, aesthetically pleasing, and sustainable environments focused on enhanced quality and employee experience.
- Enhance hospitality functions within the workplace to improve employee and customer experiences.
- Incorporate innovative design solutions that promote productivity, wellness, and collaboration.
- Lead the architectural and engineering efforts for workplace design projects.
- Ensure that all design solutions comply with building codes, regulations, and industry standards.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to integrate mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems into design plans.
- Create compelling design presentations, layouts, and test fits to communicate design concepts and solutions.
- Develop executive presentations to further facility quality and experience standards.
- Utilize design software and tools to produce high-quality visualizations and documentation.
- Integrate ESG and sustainability principles into workplace design and operations.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to develop and implement initiatives that reduce the environmental impact of our physical workplaces.
- Monitor and report on the progress of sustainability initiatives and their impact on the workplace.
- Partner with internal leaders across various departments to ensure design projects meet business needs and objectives.
- Manage relationships with external design firms, contractors, and vendors to deliver high-quality design solutions.
- Facilitate effective communication and collaboration between all stakeholders involved in design projects.
- Oversee the planning, budgeting, and strategic oversight of workplace design projects.
- Partnering with project managers in the operations team to ensure projects meet the goals, timelines and budgets within the approved strategic actions.
- Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality.
- Implement best practices in project management to streamline processes and improve efficiency.
- Stay current with industry trends and innovations in workplace design and sustainability.
- Introduce new design concepts and technologies that enhance the workplace experience.
- Benchmark against industry standards and continuously seek opportunities for improvement.
- Proven track record of leading large-scale design projects and managing cross-functional teams.
- Strong understanding of ESG and sustainability principles and their application in workplace design.
- Excellent project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Creative and innovative thinker with a passion for enhancing the workplace experience.
- Knowledge of relevant design software and tools such as REVIT, Enscape, Bluebeam, Newforma, AutoCAD, Adobe Suite
- Possess a comprehensive knowledge of materials, furnishings (interiors) construction methodologies, building codes and regulations.
- Possess a thorough knowledge of design and production procedures as well as internal quality assurance processes.
- Understanding of the components of constructions drawings and specifications and the ability to review documentation prepared by others for compliance with the design intent.
- Ability to communicate effectively with clients, consultants, contractors and staff and have the people skills required to effectively negotiate.
- Ability to motivate and supervise the work of others.
- Possess excellent interpersonal, verbal, written and graphic communication skills.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of situations concurrently.
- Possesses a thorough knowledge of contract administration procedures for professional services and consultants.
- Ability to supervise responsibilities of multiple projects simultaneously.
Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in architecture, Interior Design, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in workplace design, with a focus on offices, clinics, and pharmacies.
- Professional license as a designer and/or LEED accreditation is a plus
