* Flexible Onsite Location: Willing to consider other onsite locations.OVERVIEW/DESCRIPTION: As a member of the Cigna Healthcare (CHC) Clinical Leadership team, this role will report directly to the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) for Cigna Healthcare and will be responsible for leading CHC Clinical's Product and Solution Design team, driving the creation of innovative and patient-centered clinical products and programs to improve patient outcomes, experience and value. The candidate will serve as a close strategic partner to the Product, Solutions, and Technology teams, functioning as the clinical lead to inform and drive a forward-looking and market-leading clinical product strategy. This team will oversee strategy and development of specialized clinical programs focused on particular risk groups (e.g. high cost claimants, etc.), disease areas (e.g. oncology, women's health, etc.), employee segments, and functional tasks (e.g. structured case review processes, high risk case management, etc.).
RESPONSIBILITIES: - Advance our clinical value proposition: Partner with product, marketing and sales teams to refresh the clinical product suite and to continue to deliver innovative and compelling messaging.
- Navigate a matrixed partnership: Work with key matrix partners (Technology, Product Strategy & Solutions, Sales Operations) to drive next-generation solutions and future enhancements with effective messaging of the value of such programs/solutions; in particular, this leader will act as a conduit between the Clinical Solutions function and the Senior Vice President of Strategy & Solutions for CHC to ensure solutions and strategies are supported within the enterprise.
- Partner with Product team to embed in, design, and support a clinical product roadmap and strategy.
- Partner with Technology and Data teams to advance the use of AI and relevant digital data in the development and enhancement of clinical solutions.
- Drive change: Operate as a change agent to position the Clinical Solutions team as a strategic enabler, driving strong alignment and outcomes in partnership with business constituents.
- Achieve clinical outcomes: Optimize the impact of the Clinical Product and Solutions team in supporting measurable client outcomes.
- Manage a Balanced Portfolio of Clinical Product: Evaluate and rationalize the entire portfolio of clinical programs, vendors and solutions to maintain a high-value and curated offering.
- Leverage Advanced Segmentation: Develop differentiated and customized clinical offerings that are targeted to the needs of specific market segments (e.g. ASO clinical value proposition, etc.) and employee segments.
- Offer a Diverse and Innovative Perspective: Provide a broad and innovative outside-in view of clinical product to help push the envelope within clinical solution development. Be an expert in trends and innovation in healthcare (GLP-1s, gene therapy) with an eye towards developing market-leading clinical products to address these areas.
- Bring Case Management to the Next Level: Apply deep case management expertise across various settings to understand, assess and enhance Cigna's case management offerings.
- Lead and Develop Teams: Build and manage high-performing teams, comprised of clinicians, project managers and product managers.
- Ensure Operational Execution and Performance Measurement: Implement scalable processes to enhance product and program ideation, development, uptake and impact. Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess the impact of product strategies, ensuring continuous improvement and market competitiveness.
- Recruit a talented bench: Staff with top-level talent, bringing best-in-class internal clinical, strategy, and operations talent together alongside external talent with new and innovative perspectives.
- Achieve a clinical/business balance: Be respected organization-wide for bringing both clinical expertise, patient-focused integrity and compassion, and a sharp business and P& L mindset.
- Be results-oriented: Be oriented to managing work from vision through to completion, with a data-driven orientation and an ability to get stuff done.
- Work effectively within a matrix: Navigate complex cross-matrix working relationships and dynamics with ease and an ability to successfully drive work through collaboration and influence.
REQUIRED SKILLS: - MD/DO degree required; MBA and/or relevant business experience (10-15 years) preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in healthcare leadership, value-based care strategy, and provider network management.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in clinical practice. Current clinical practice is a plus but not required.
- Deep experience in clinical product, program, and solution design and execution, with demonstrable and measurable impact.
- Excellent leadership skills including the ability to think strategically, develop vision, and execute for results.
- Proven thought leader of innovative, effective clinical solutions; must have end-to-end experience in deriving clinical and business value from clinical interventions, programs, and solutions.
- Experience demonstrating iterative and synergistic solutions with near-term value delivery in service of longer-term pivots.
- Experience with Commercial health plan product constructs, design, and innovative benefit structures.
- Demonstrated ability to deliver creative solutions to complex challenges.
- Experience working in a highly matrixed organization, with proven ability to develop internal enterprise relationships and influence partners.
- Strong communication skills, particularly the ability to translate complex topics into consumable formats.
- Willingness to travel as needed to support provider and regional team engagement.
