POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
  • Overall planning & management of estimating activities for specific construction projects, including preparation, interpretation & presentation of estimates.
  • Review project plans, requirements, and specifications.
  • Prepare accurate quantity takeoffs and materials pricing.
  • Coordinate subcontract solicitations and job walks.
  • Determine labor and construction equipment costs.
  • Prepare conceptual estimates.
  • Meet and maintain bidding and work schedules.
  • Submit requisitions for purchase of materials.
  • Compare competitive trade bids.
  • Review preliminary quotes and pre-bid estimates with Project Manager.
  • Secure all bid documents (bid forms and quote letters).
  • Prepare subcontractor bid list and submit drawings to subcontractors.
  • Participate in bid compilation on bid day.
  • Assist jobsite staff with estimates after bid award.
  • Perform post-bid buyouts (if applicable).
  • Maintain good relationship with suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Supervise and train estimating staff (if applicable).


MINIMUM SKILLS OR EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

Will accept a Bachelor's degree or foreign academic equivalent in Engineering, Construction Management, or Architectural Degree, or related experience and (3) years of project engineering or related experience.

For an unrelated degree, the employer will accept an additional year of relevant work experience in project engineering or related experience.

Employer will accept any suitable combination of education, training or experience.
  • Estimating software experience with each of the following: Excel, Bluebeam, & Takeoff/Quantification software.
  • Ability to read and understand specifications, drawings, and BIM Models.
  • Develop estimates with appropriate level of detail through knowledge construction costs and principles.
  • Handle multiple bids at a time.
  • Development of project strategy; including staffing, fees, other indirect costs aligning with company business plan goals.
  • Site logistic analysis.
  • Technical writing of estimate qualifications.


40 hours/week; $100, 610.00-$110, 000.00
