Job Description Summary:
Consulting with clients and contractors in a professional manner, assigning tasks, making sure jobs are completed in due time and ensure work in We are seeking an experienced Demolition Foreman to lead and manage crews on demolition projects. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of experience in demolition and a strong understanding of structural and tenant improvement (TI) demolition. This role requires hands-on leadership, exceptional organizational skills, and the ability to manage crews and resources efficiently while maintaining safety and quality standards.
Job Description:
Key Responsibilities:
• Field Leadership & Crew Management:
o Lead and supervise demolition crews to ensure safe and efficient operations.
o Conduct daily safety meetings and morning huddles to review tasks, hazards, and goals for the day.
o Set up crews to complete tasks with drawings, man-days to complete tasks, and proper equipment.
o Correctly request (dispatch) proper personnel to complete tasks efficiently.
o Manage crew performance to ensure projects are completed at or under budget in terms of man-days.
o Productivity tracking
o Daily tracking of hours worked and entering time cards
• Demolition Expertise:
o Perform and oversee structural and tenant improvement (TI) demolition tasks.
o Operate and manage equipment for concrete cutting, Core drilling as well as basic power tools, basic hand tools, and aerial lifts.
• Safety & Quality Control:
o Enforce company safety policies and procedures to maintain a safe work environment.
o Ensure proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and adherence to job site safety protocols.
o Monitor work quality and review put-back drawings to ensure demolition is completed as planned.
• Coordination & Inspections:
o Conduct pre-install meetings with the General Contractor Superintendent and the trade impacted by the demolition to align expectations.
o Perform first work inspections with the GC Superintendent and affected trade to ensure the work meets required standards and expectations.
o Conduct punch list walks upon completion of work, ensuring all parties (GC, trades) verbally and in writing agree that the work is completed to satisfaction.
• Communication & Problem-Solving:
o Proactively update the Superintendent and Project Manager on issues such as budget overruns, field discrepancies, and personnel conflicts.
o Collaborate with the Superintendent and Project Manager to address challenges and develop solutions.
• Heavy Equipment Operation:
o Operate and maintain heavy equipment such as excavators, skid steers, and loaders. This is a bonus, however we rarely use excavators and loaders
o Conduct daily equipment checks and ensure proper operation and upkeep.
• Documentation & Reporting:
o Complete daily reports on job progress, crew productivity, and safety observations.
o Track and manage field documentation, including timecards, tool use, and equipment checkouts.
o Willingness to learn power BI for production tracking
o Daily time reporting in Workmax
• Scheduling & Resource Management:
o Plan and allocate resources, including manpower, tools, and equipment, to meet project demands.
o Manage job schedules to ensure timely completion of tasks.
Qualifications:
• Minimum 5 years of experience in demolition as a Foreman or Lead.
• Proven expertise in structural demolition, tenant improvement demolition, and media blasting.
• Hands-on experience with concrete cutting tools, basic power tools, basic hand tools, and aerial lifts.
• Proficient in operating heavy equipment such as excavators, skid steers, and loaders.
• Strong understanding of safety regulations, demolition practices, and job site logistics.
• Experience in setting up crews with proper resources and managing projects efficiently within budgets.
• Ability to lead pre-install meetings, first work inspections, and punch list walks to align and confirm project expectations and completion.
• Excellent communication and team leadership skills.
• Ability to read and interpret plans and specifications is a plus.
