EDUCATION, LICENSE, CERTIFICATION and EXPERIENCE:
1. Education High school diploma or equivalent required. Associates Degree in Allied Health
Sciences Preferred.
2. Licenses Current Medical Assistant Certification and/or Registration required through an
accredited organization (i.e. AMT, AAMA, NHA, etc.)
3. Certifications Current BLS Certification.
4. Experience Must have a minimum of two (2) years’ experience or related education in
hands-on medical assisting duties. A minimum of twelve (12) months as medical
assistant scribe, preferred.


REQUIRED SCREENINGS:
1. Drug Screen
2. Physical Assessment
3. Two-step Tuberculosis screen
4. Background check (Criminal, Civil, Educational, Previous Employment, etc.)
5. Driver Record screen (positions requiring on-the-job driving)


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
* Checks schedule each day to confirm work day schedule. (Schedules are subject to change).
* Reliable and punctual attendance is essential; expected to be at job as scheduled each scheduled
day.
* Accurately and truthfully complete patient records in a timely manner.
* Work harmoniously with Physician and Clerical staff to meet all patient needs.
* Take and record vital signs, height/weight, intake/output, collection of routine urine specimens,
monitors/records elimination.
* Demonstrate the ability and skill to provide medical assistance to patients at the direction of the
Physician and within scope of practice as it applies to medical training.
* May carry out therapeutic measures under the direction of the Physician (such as changes of
bandages, suture removal, and splint application, application of heat or cold).
* Assist with transporting patient, within the facility, for x-ray, CT and/or lab services. Will assist
with transporting patient to and from patient’s vehicle or patients designed method of
transportation.
* Assist with transfers or admissions to other physicians or facilities.
* Shall ensure that all education of continuing education requirements and preventive medicine
changes are up to date which shall include but not be limited to, vaccines (adult and pediatric),
mammogram, PAP, colonoscopy and any other changes in preventive patient needs.
* Works collaboratively with clinic staff on programs to improve patient outcomes.
* Provide patient education as directed by the physician.
* Complete daily routine assignments.
* Assist with coordination of work with Clinical Nurse Manager/Clinical Staff Manager for follow up
on missed appointments, reminder calls, lost toe care calls, and high risk referrals. Track
abnormal PAPS and mammograms using 121 and ensure proper patient follow up and referrals
as assigned by the Clinical Nurse Manger/Clinical Staff Manager.
* Serve as back up for clinical team members as needed including vacations, illnesses, lunches, etc.
* Help in development of education and in service for staff under the direction of the Clinical
Nurse Manager/Clinical Staff Manger.
* In Coordination with the Clinical Nurse Manager/Clinical Staff Manager, create standard clinic
processes/workflow procedures for OTCs/Medical Assistants and/or X-Ray Techs to maximize
quality, efficient care.
* Oversee compliance with clinic/hospital policies and procedures as directed by the Clinical Nurse
Manager/Clinical Staff Manager.
* Assist with daily staffing of OTC’s/Medical Assistants/Athletic Trainers/Ortho Techs as assigned to
ensure continuity of operations.
* Assist with training for new and fellow staff members.
* Assist with Clinical Nurse Manager/Clinical Staff Manager to ensure that yearly competency
evaluations of all staff on clinical skills is completed within a timely manner.
* Participate and support departmental and organizational changes as directed.
* Assist in organizing and participating in quality improvement activities using the PDSA model to
improve systems/services.
* Act as a liaison between provider, medical office specialists and medical office assistant and the
administrative team.
* Complete daily/monthly routine assignments. For example ensure that all safety check lists are
completed each month, refrigerator logs are up to date, expired medications are checked, and
sample medication logs are completed and accurate.
* Assist in any version of electronic health care record changes and strive to become a super user.
* Assist with performing chart audits as directed by the Clinical Nurse Manager/Clinical Staff
Manager.
* Other job related duties as assigned.


GENERAL DUTIES:
* Maintains a standard level of professionalism with patients, public and colleagues.
* Communicate necessary information to others as appropriate.
* Maintain clean and orderly utility rooms, linens, etc., at all times.
* Clean and care for equipment and utensils.
* Maintain a sanitary environment in exam rooms, restocking medical supplies as needed for
patient care.
* Responds to all inquiries professionally preserving confidentiality.
* Positive and professional conduct through both verbal and non-verbal communication.
* Maintains patient/resident/employee privacy and confidentiality at all times.
* Attend staff meetings and in-service education.
* Practice effective interpersonal skills and work productively as a member of a team.
* Allow patients the opportunity to be involved in decision-making as appropriate.
* Assist with and/or performs routine duties that do not require a specific professional license. (i.e.
fax insurance companies, medical records, etc.)
* Ensure inventory is adequately reviewed weekly. Assist in ordering supplies and equipment in a
timely manner and as needed for various outpatient clinics. Assist staff in yearly inventory as
directed by the Clinical Nurse Manager/Clinical Staff Manager.

Wage starts at $21.00 and goes up with experience
