POSITION TITLE: Manufacturing Test Engineer

REPORTS TO: Manufacturing Test Engineering Manager.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Define and implement general assembly inline or end-of-line RF transmitter/ receiver testing requirements in collaboration with hardware and firmware design, and integration teams, in preparation for new product launches
• Lead development of testing hardware and software with suppliers during product prototyping
• Key member of the manufacturing end-of-line test system design team involved with test specification development, test equipment selection, software design review, and test implementation for new and existing products
• Optimize tests for manufacturing in collaboration with cross functional teams, considering KPIs such as quality, productivity, and capital expenditure
• Lead processing issue investigations into test failures and ensure all issues are driven to resolution, including immediate mitigation and permanent solution
• Challenge assumptions that are not backed by a thorough engineering evaluation, and prioritize tasks to ensure smooth vehicle launch and new product introductions
• Provide regular, metric-based project updates to management team
• Execute DFMEA/PFMEA on products to identify required test
• Onsite manufacturing support; scheduled and on-demand

QUALIFICATIONS

• Experienced test professional with hands on experience supporting end-of-line test and product debug on the manufacturing line
• 5+ years of manufacturing test engineering or product development experience, preferably in volume wireless electronic manufacturing
• Strong and current working knowledge of National Instruments TestStand and LabView. Python software development is a plus,
• Working knowledge of analog or RF circuit analysis, electronic theory, and test instrumentation, with “hands-on” electronic troubleshooting experience
• Experience with test fixture design and sourcing
• Working knowledge of SQC and gauge repeatability and reproducibility
• An eye toward continuous improvement is a must
• Experience with low power, battery operated radio products is a plus

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

• BS EE, CE, or CS
