We are seeking a Production Planning & Inventory Supervisor to join our Production Planning & Management team at our plant located in Pueblo, Colorado. As a Production Planning & Inventory Supervisor, you will oversee the planning and inventory management program for our Rail Mill. You will develop, direct and manage a team of employees in the safe, efficient and cost-effective manufacture of high-quality rail products.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage and oversee all necessary cycle-counts (daily, weekly, monthly quarterly, and annually), reporting, and adjustments of raw materials, WHIP, and finished goods
  • Monitor daily production, shipments and delay management
  • Forecast operational schedules based on the order book
  • Maintain and improve department 6S – daily management
  • Collaborate directly with the Sales Department to prioritize product preparation and On-Time-In-Full (OTIF).
  • Primary contact to operations, 3rd party vendors, and sales regarding performance and supply
  • Collaborate with operations & maintenance teams to drive the business unit toward their goals
  • Order molds from Steel Production to be processed in the Seamless Mill
  • Supervise clerical employees to include development, coaching, training, shift safety meetings, performance management, timekeeping, a good working knowledge to administer the collective bargaining agreements and application of company policies
  • Performs other duties as they might be assigned

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • Associates degree in a business-related field or equivalent, preferred
  • Three years of industrial supervisory experience, steel industry preferred
  • One year of front-line supervisory or team leader experience managing cross-functional teams
  • Knowledge and experience with process troubleshooting, and material flow logistics
  • Experience with database development, statistical process control, process control and automation technologies, and lean manufacturing principles, preferred
  • Functional knowledge in Microsoft Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint
  • Experience with Oracle quality and production modules and Oracle 11i requisitioning, preferred
  • Strong time management skills
  • High mechanical aptitude
  • Proven ability to professionally communicate, in written and verbal forms
  • Proven ability to organize and motivate teams for safe, high-quality results and maximum productivity
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment
  • Ability to work in an operational mill, with exposure to environmental and outside conditions, with hazards present, while following safety procedures
  • Must hold a valid Colorado Driver’s License

Compensation

  • $82, 000 - $92, 000
