Rocky Mountain Steel Mills in Pueblo, Colorado is seeking a Quality Assurance Intern to join our Pueblo team for the summer (approx. 12 weeks).

This individual will work with the quality team to update and optimize the newly implemented electronic quality management system (EQMS) critical to meeting certification requirements for several product line at Rocky Mountain Steel Mills in Pueblo, CO. Additional opportunities will be assisting with needed documentation for the new long rail mill and other mills. This will be an opportunity to work in a new state-of-the-art rail facility.

The summer intern will work side-by-side with our Quality System Coordinators. This is an opportunity to contribute to real-world, solution driven projects that will improve the overall workflow of our steel mills.

  • Assist with updating and optimizing documents, pages, and attachments for the optimal performance of the new EQMS system at RMSM
  • Assist RMSM Quality System Coordinators in updating documentation in preparation for certification audits for API, ISO, AAR, etc.
  • Opportunity to learn the processes involved with products produced at RMSM
  • Participate in RMSM internal audits

Requirements

  • Pursuing a degree in engineering or technical degree
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to learn new skills and software
  • Can work independently, and also with others
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Knowledge of quality systems is a plus

Term

  • May-August 2026, following commencement of Spring Semester

Compensation

  • Undergraduate experience $22.00 - $28.00 per hour
