Description:

We are seeking a skilled and strategic Commodity Manager to join our sourcing team in Boulder, Colorado. In this role, you'll apply your expertise in procurement, negotiation, and supplier collaboration to develop sourcing strategies that drive cost savings, optimize supplier performance, and support our company’s overall goals.

This role is ideal for individuals who thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and who have a proven ability to manage sourcing for mechanical or electromechanical components within a manufacturing context.

We are looking for candidates who possess below key skills in order to be successful in this role:

  • Strategic sourcing expertise — You can design and implement sourcing strategies that reduce costs and improve supplier performance.
  • Supplier relationship management — You are skilled in evaluating, developing, and managing supplier partnerships.
  • Contract negotiation — You have the ability to negotiate complex agreements that align with business and operational needs.
  • Cost modeling & market analysis — You are comfortable with cost breakdowns, total cost of ownership analysis, and market research to inform decisions.
  • Technical fluency — You understand the sourcing and production requirements of mechanical or electromechanical components.
  • Project leadership — You can lead cross-functional sourcing projects and deliver measurable results.
  • Communication & collaboration — You work effectively across departments and with global partners to achieve shared goals.

In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

  • Develop and execute sourcing strategies focused on cost efficiency, supply continuity, and long-term value creation.
  • Analyze commodity markets and supply base dynamics to inform business decisions and guide strategic sourcing initiatives.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineering, operations, and design to ensure supplier alignment with product and business goals.
  • Lead contract negotiations and manage key supplier relationships, ensuring favorable terms and consistent supplier performance.
  • Drive cost analysis and value engineering, including design-for-manufacturability (DFM) activities and evaluation of cost drivers.
  • Manage global and local sourcing initiatives, coordinating across teams and geographies to deliver consistent outcomes.
  • Lead and influence cross-functional project teams, assigning tasks and tracking progress to ensure successful implementation.

For This Role, You Will Need:

  • Demonstrated success in commodity management, sourcing strategy, or supply chain roles (manufacturing environment preferred)
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 25%.
  • Ability to lead cross-functional and global teams, directly or indirectly
  • Working knowledge of mechanical/electromechanical components and supply markets
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. (no sponsorship available for this role)


Preferred Qualifications That Set You Apart:

  • MBA degree
  • Forward thinking pulling data from multiple sources to paint an accurate picture to communicate with leadership and stakeholders effectively
  • 8+ years in a commodity or category management role

Our compensation philosophy is simple: we pay a competitive base salary, within the local market in which we operate, and reward performance during our annual merit review process. The salary range for this role is $100, 000-140, 000 annually, commensurate with the skills, talent, capabilities, and experience each candidate brings to a role.​
