Title: Southeast Conservation Corps -Communications Coordinator
Starting Salary Range: The starting salary for this position will be in the $21.39-$22.04 per hour range, depending on experience, education, and skills relevant to the position. Please note that the indicated starting salary range describes the range for an incumbent in this position. Most new staff generally start at the beginning of the range percentile to ensure internal salary equity.
Location: Southeast Conservation Corps, Chattanooga, TN, with on-site, hybrid, and fully remote options available.
Status: Full-Time, Non-/Exempt

Program Summary:
Southeast Conservation Corps (SECC) operates conservation service programs throughout the Southeast that focus on meeting the needs of the natural landscapes while empowering youth and adults to cultivate compassion, responsibility, and life skills through community service, hard work, and land stewardship. As a corps program, SECC partners with public land managers to identify, plan and complete projects that improve public access, habitat quality and economic development. SECC is a program of Conservation Legacy, a nationwide network of conservation service organizations founded to move forward the legacy of the Civilian Conservation Corps.
Position Summary:
With direction and input from the Communications Team and the Executive Director, and in coordination with Individual Placement and Crew programming staff, the Communications Coordinator will design and implement outreach strategies for SECC. The successful candidate will lead external communications, coordinate internal story collection, and work with organization-wide Communications staff. The communications Coordinator will oversee all social media channels, website updates, publish email newsletters, and support Program Coordinators with recruitment outreach. The Communications Coordinator will assist in fundraising campaigns as needed. With support from the Executive Directors, the Communications Coordinator will create and manage an alumni outreach process. The Communications Coordinator will review all inquiries and direct them to the appropriate Program Director. The Communications Coordinator will provide support during member trainings and cohort calls and have an opportunity to facilitate sessions around communications strategies and best practices. This position will also be expected to travel several times per year for member training, staff and community engagement, and site visits.

Qualifications:
At least one year of professional social media experience (Facebook, Instagram, others).
Experience with graphic design software, or a working knowledge of design principles.
Demonstrated strong writing and editing skills
Ability to successfully work in a fluid, changing work environment.
Ability to operate Microsoft Office programs and applications, or similar platforms.
At least one year of professional experience completing work projects independently or with minimal supervision.
At least one year of experience managing data with integrity and accuracy.
Ability to work well with others and to seek assistance when needed to carry out assignments.
Valid Driver’s License and Insurable Driving Record per Personnel Policies.
Must be able to pass the organization’s criminal history check requirements.
