We are searching for the best talent for EH& S Engineer I to be in Juarez, Chih., México at the plant Horizontes.

Purpose:

Responsible for implementing the Environment programs in BWI.
Reports directly to the EH& S Manager or higher-level engineer.

You will be responsible for:

In accordance with all applicable federal, state and local laws/regulations and Corporate Johnson & Johnson, procedures and guidelines, this position:

1.POLICIES: To know and comply with the policies and procedures of BWI related to the activities performed in the area of responsibility.

2.FORMATION: Completes the formation in the area of responsibility within the allowed time. The formation is necessary for the changes in the existing policies and procedures, for the new tasks and for the implementation of new policies and procedures. Completes periodical retraining required in areas like safety and environment.

3.SAFETY: Follows all the safety policies of the company and other safety measures in the work area. Promotes safety to all associates in the work area.

4.ENVIRONMENT: Follows all the Environment policies, Local, State and Federal requirements.

5.EH& S Engineer I:

Can perform all or a combination of these responsibilities:

  • 5.1 Provides basic level technical assistance in matters of safety, and/or ergonomics and environment matters under the direct supervision of a professional of health, safety and environment of a higher level.

  • 5.2 Support in the evaluation, planning and implementation of appropriate safety and environment and of the components of the industrial hygiene program; under direct supervision, Support with projects that require basic safety and industrial hygiene knowledge and/or ergonomics and environment of the identification of potential risk for the analysis of risk level to the application of appropriate control measures.

  • 5.3 Support with the monitoring of the advances of the management action plans, the provision of basic technical support to help with the corporate reunion, business franchise and goals of the site.

  • 5.4 Support with the maintenance and presentation of EH& S reports.

  • 5.5 Provides basic level technical assistance in matters of safety, industrial hygiene, ergonomics and environmental, under the direct supervision of an EH& S professional of a higher level.

  • 5.6 Support in the evaluation, planning and implementation of appropriate safety and the components of the industrial hygiene program; under direct supervision, Support with projects that require basic knowledge of safety and industrial hygiene, ergonomics and environment of the identification of potential risk for the analysis of risk level to the application of appropriate control measures. Offers technical support to the EH& S committees. Help with the delivery of the formation sessions related to EH& S. The measures include the progress in the improvement of the EH& S metrics of the franchise in the site in the specific components of the program.

  • 5.7 Support with the monitoring of the advances of the management action plans, the provision of technical basic support to help with the compliance of the companies, business franchises and site goals. Examples of this include goals of incident rates and the finalization of the management action plans within the due dates, environmental reports, water, air, hazardous and nonhazardous waste, etc.

  • 5.8 Support with the maintenance and presentation of meeting reports, with the corresponding due dates.

  • 5.9 Performs promotional activities for the community which are related to EH& S.


The following must be included for all positions:

  • Responsible for communicating business related issues or opportunities to the next management level.

  • Responsible for following all Company guidelines related to Health, Safety and Environmental practices as applicable.

  • For those who supervise or manage a staff, responsible for ensuring that ordinates follow all Company guidelines related to Health, Safety and Environmental practices and that all resources needed to do so are available and in good condition, if applicable.

  • Responsible for ensuring personal and Company compliance with all Federal, State, local and Company regulations, policies, and procedures.

  • Performs other duties assigned as needed.

Qualifications /Requirements:

  • B. S. in Engineering preferred or relevant higher level education completed.

  • 0 to 2 years of relevant experience on safety and/or environmental

  • Written and oral communication.

  • Business management – produce and maintain the schedules and budgets of the projects.

  • Interface – associates and local, state and federal inspectors.

  • Problem solving.

  • Precise and organized – generates all the reports required and record maintenance systems.

  • Multitask – coordinates multiple tasks and deadlines.

  • Knowledge of Health and Occupational Safety, Environment regulations at a local, state and federal levels.

  • Requires technical knowledge of the components of the program of industrial hygiene and safety. Requires experience in identification, evaluation and control of safety risks at the place of work.

  • Must be clever and creative in the development of approaches that use the existing resources to confront the lagoons in the components of the program. Also, he/she must be capable of creating methods to achieve compliance of the regulatory requirements of Johnson & Johnson while complying with the commercial restrictions of the location of the company. Must be capable of extrapolating the general documents of orientation to the specific characteristics of the location of the company.

  • Must be capable of managing multiple demands, developing innovative solutions to the problems. Partners with all levels and has the capacity of leading projects and teams.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills, of communication, influence, planning, organization and time management. Superior team player.

  • Proficiency using MS Office such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.

  • The data information and monitoring systems of J& J Worldwide EH& S.
