What's the role?

Works under minimal supervision, managing a staff of facilities maintenance workers and/or contractors who perform cleaning, maintenance, and repairs for Carl Zeiss Meditec Production. Responsible for the management and results from overall site facilities maintenance program which includes ensuring quick responsiveness to facilities issues, developing a long-term facilities strategy, ensuring regulatory compliance, supporting our Safety program and leading capital improvement projects.

  • Establish and maintain all vendor government contracts related to the facility ensuring value and performance.
  • Responsible for facilities related capital improvement projects. Aspects include generating proper specifications of requirements, leading requests for proposal, guiding supplier selection and ensuring overall project performance (budget, scope and timing). Must be able to develop validation protocols (IQ, OQ, PQ) to meet Quality Management System requirements.
  • Ensures compliance to applicable government / regulatory compliance requirements. Develops related company policy and procedures and trains site personnel.
  • Leads site sustainability initiatives including managing of our energy infrastructure and waste management.
  • Develops strategy and plans to support production growth and reliable facility infrastructure. Maintains critical infrastructure including HVAC systems, a class 7 cleanroom, an air compressor system, DI water systems and other systems.
  • Responsible for Corrective and Preventative Actions (CAPA) associated with facility issues.
  • Address Measurement, Instrumentation and Control (MIC) issues where appropriate.
  • Responsible for all pest control and cleaning throughout the facility
  • Develops disaster recovery plans including power outage management..
  • Addresses facilities safety related manners in a quick and effective manner.
  • Has overall responsibility for the site facilities maintenance processes and employees/contractors ensuring a high level of performance and responsiveness to site needs.
  • Establishes a preventative maintenance program to ensure that all facility equipment operates at optimum levels with minimal downtime.
  • Confer with other supervisors to coordinate maintenance of individual departments.
  • Interprets company policies to assigned workers/contractors and enforces safety regulations.
  • Analyzes and resolves work problems or assists workers in solving work problems.
  • Initiates or suggests plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals.
  • Perform a variety of complex tasks which problem solving skills.
  • Performs activities of workers supervised.


SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of this unit. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable federal and state laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Do you qualify?

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Associate degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or 5-7 years relevant experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

REASONING ABILITY

Performs a variety of complex tasks. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Must have good eyesight, good hand-to-eye coordination, and good manual dexterity in order to properly handle equipment. Must be able to work well with others and have leadership qualities.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position remote work not applicable. Core work hours are Monday through Friday, 40(plus) hours per week. Occasionally may be required to work on weekends.

The annual pay range for this position is $97, 900- $122, 400

The pay offered for this role may be influenced by factors such as job location, scope of role, qualifications, education, experience, & complexity/specialization/scarcity of talent.

This position is eligible for a Performance Bonus.
