Job Title: Medical Records Director (Limited Term: 3 to 5 months)

Position Overview: We are currently seeking a Medical Records Director (Limited Term) to join our team. The Medical Records Director will be responsible for overseeing the management and maintenance of all medical records in compliance with regulatory requirements. This is a limited term position with the opportunity for extension based on performance and organizational needs.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures for the maintenance and confidentiality of medical records
  • Ensure accuracy, completeness, and organization of all medical records
  • Oversee the release of information process in accordance with HIPAA regulations
  • Train and supervise staff members involved in medical records management
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers and administrative staff to ensure timely access to medical information
  • Conduct regular audits to assess compliance with regulatory standards
  • Maintain electronic health record systems and troubleshoot any technical issues
  • Prepare reports and respond to inquiries from regulatory agencies as needed


Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Health Information Management or related field required
  • Certified as a Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) or Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) preferred
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in medical records management, preferably in a healthcare setting
  • Thorough understanding of HIPAA regulations and other relevant healthcare laws
  • Strong organizational and leadership skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks effectively
  • Proficiency in electronic health record systems and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines
