Now Hiring: Assistant Business Office Manager (ABOM)

Whitney Oaks Care Center in Carmichael is seeking an experienced Assistant Business Office Manager to support our Business Office Manager with billing, collections, and payor management in our skilled nursing facility.

We are proud to be contracted with major health plans and the VA, serving a diverse resident population with complex medical and reimbursement needs.

We're looking for someone who understands the financial side of post-acute care and thrives in a fast-paced, detail-oriented environment — while remembering that behind every account is a resident and family depending on us.

Compensation & Growth Opportunities:

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist with billing and collections for all payor sources
  • Manage and follow up on:
    • Medi-Cal
    • Medicare (Part A & B)
    • PDPM reimbursement
    • CalAIM
    • Commercial/managed care plans
    • VA contracts
  • Review accounts receivable and proactively pursue collections
  • Verify benefits, obtain authorizations, and ensure accurate billing setup
  • Collaborate with admissions, MDS, and clinical teams to ensure appropriate reimbursement
  • Assist residents and families with billing questions and financial paperwork
  • Maintain compliance with state and federal regulations

Qualifications:
  • Previous SNF experience required
  • Strong working knowledge of Medi-Cal, Medicare, PDPM, CalAIM, managed care, and commercial insurance
  • Experience with accounts receivable and collections in a healthcare setting
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail
  • Ability to multitask and meet deadlines
  • Professional communication skills
  • Team-oriented, dependable, and solutions-focused
