Role Overview

Key Responsibilities
- Meal Preparation: Assist the cook in preparing meals, snacks, and beverages according to prescribed dietary plans.
- Tray Assembly: Set up dining rooms and assemble food trays accurately based on resident diet cards.
- Service: Serve meals to residents with a friendly, helpful attitude.
- Sanitation: Clean and sanitize dishes, utensils, kitchen equipment, and dining areas after meals.
- Inventory & Safety: Assist with unpacking, storing, and rotating food stocks while adhering to food safety standards.
- Compliance: Follow all local health department regulations and facility safety guidelines.
Qualifications & Skills
- Experience: Previous food service experience in a healthcare or skilled nursing facility is preferred but not required.
- Certifications: Valid Food Handler's Permit (or willingness to obtain one upon hire).
- Communication: Ability to read, write, and follow oral and written instructions in English.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for long periods, walk quickly, and lift or move up to 30-50 pounds.
- Soft Skills: Strong teamwork, a warm personality, and patience when interacting with elderly residents.
