Westview Health Center is seeking a passionate, motivated, and team-oriented Director of Staff Development (DSD) to join our supportive and collaborative leadership team. This is a great opportunity for a nurse educator who is energized by developing staff, ensuring regulatory excellence, and contributing to high-quality resident care.

๐Ÿ’ผ Position Overview

The Director of Staff Development is responsible for planning, coordinating, and leading education and training programs for nursing and facility staff. Working closely with the Director of Nursing and Administrator, the DSD plays a key role in maintaining compliance, building staff competency, and supporting a culture of continuous learningโ€”while also providing direct resident care as needed.

๐Ÿ”‘ Key Responsibilities (Summary)
  • Lead facility orientation, in-service education, and ongoing training programs
  • Develop and maintain annual and monthly in-service schedules and records
  • Identify staff education needs using surveys, evaluations, audits, and facility rounds
  • Coordinate infection control education and emergency preparedness drills
  • Support recruiting, onboarding, and staff supervision as needed
  • Participate in regulatory surveys and ensure compliance with state and federal requirements
  • Foster positive relationships with residents, families, and interdisciplinary team members
  • Provide direct resident/patient care when appropriate

๐ŸŽ“ Qualifications
  • Active RN or LVN/LPN license (BSN preferred)
  • At least 1 year of long-term care experience providing direct patient care
  • At least 1 year of experience planning and delivering nursing education programs
  • 2+ years of experience preferred, ideally in a long-term care setting
  • Current CPR certification
  • Knowledge of PCC preferred
  • Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills
