Join Weatherford as an R& M Technician / Machinist and perform hands-on manufacturing, repair, and maintenance of oil tools and equipment. You'll work with our facilities, machinery, and systems to repair, refurbish, and manufacture oil and gas tools using company procedures.
Roles and Responsibilities- Participate in daily safety meetings, toolbox talks, and Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) sessions
- Repair and maintain machines, equipment, and structures using hand tools (hammers, wrenches, drills) and precision measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers)
- Inspect used parts and determine dimensional requirements using precision measuring instruments
- Operate manual lathes for turning, boring, and thread cutting operations (straight and tapered threads)
- Set up and operate manual mills with 4th axis, drill presses, and saws
- Read and interpret mechanical detail drawings and use dial calipers, OD and ID micrometers
- Operate forklifts, overhead cranes, and other lifting equipment safely (certification required)
- Accurately track time using the Work Order (WO) time tracking system
- Maintain equipment, facilities, and work areas in safe, presentable condition
- Support LEAN initiatives and participate in continuous improvement programs
- Comply with all HSE policies, quality standards, and company Rules to Live By
Skills / Education- High School Diploma
- 2-4+ years of experience in the Oil & Gas industry
- Basic mathematics and computer skills (time clock tasks, computer-based training, internet, Word, Excel)
- Ability to read dial calipers, OD and ID micrometers, and mechanical detail drawings
- Proficiency in operating manual lathes, mills, drill presses, and saws
- Experience with forklift and overhead crane operation (certification required)
- Strong reading and writing skills with attention to detail
- Quality control analysis to ensure products meet required standards
- Time management and organizational abilities
- Critical thinking, active learning, and complex problem-solving skills
- Ability to perform maintenance, repair, troubleshooting, and monitoring of equipment
- Physical capability to meet the demands of the role
- Strong judgment and decision-making aligned with policies and procedures
- CNC set-up and operation experience
Additional Information: Compensation Range: $30-$40 per hour
Travel Requirement: Less than 10%
