Position SummaryThe COTA supports the Occupational Therapist in delivering high-quality, individualized therapy services to help residents achieve optimal functional outcomes.
Key Responsibilities- Provide treatment as directed by the Occupational Therapist in accordance with the care plan
- Document daily treatment notes, weekly progress updates, and recertification documentation per OT Board requirements
- Assist with training Restorative Aides
- Communicate patient progress and concerns with the OT, nursing team, and other healthcare staff
- Educate families, caregivers, and nursing staff on home programs and discharge planning
- Assist in maintaining the treatment area and reporting equipment issues
- Participate in staff in-services and facility education programs
What We're Looking For- Current California Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant license
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to work effectively with residents, families, and interdisciplinary teams
- Positive, patient-focused attitude
