We are currently looking for our: Director, Airports Leasing - LAX

What we offer

In this role, you will be responsible for creating and executing strategic and effective merchandising plans that increase customer engagement and satisfaction, drive sales to Westfield Airports’ restaurants and retailers, and differentiate Westfield from our competitors. You will also partner with your leasing peers across shopping centers, corporate teams, the local asset team, operational teams, and senior leadership to develop and customize leasing strategies that transform the traveler’s experience, surprise and delight journeyers through the carefully balanced curation of physical and digital experiences and maximize commercial value. The position requires strong partnership and prioritization skills to manage stakeholder expectations as well as a great working knowledge of brands, markets, trends, and consumer insights.

Scope

  • Demonstrated strategic thinking and vision with application into action (strategic merchandising and district planning).

  • Demonstrated ability to perform market research, derive customer insights and translate into strategy and action to drive consumer engagement.

  • A global perspective with the ability to translate to a local market.

  • An understanding of the digital and physical retail environment and industry trends

  • Superior project management skills and the ability to be flexible and adaptable in a changing environment, often working under pressure and deadlines.

  • Focus on LAX T1, T2, T3, T6, TBIT and MSC South leasing and execution of strategic merchandising plan both now and for the future of the terminals.

  • Work closely with the on-site team to achieve a shared vision of LAX, which is one of the world’s busiest airports, set to exceed 100 million passengers annually by 2040.

  • Strong business acumen and ability to apply to various situations (creative deal structure skills, financial health and risk evaluations assessments, maximization of commercial value)

  • Superior communication skills, verbal and written for both internal and external audiences.

  • A strong sense of leadership and teamwork.

What we are looking for

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred.

  • Experience in real estate leasing (retail and/or commercial), property management, and/or the airport concessions industry. Varied background proficiency preferred.

  • Strong Commercial Business Acumen - Master Contract knowledge and the ability to manage budgets. Creatively skilled at crafting deal structures that works for tenants and maximizes the commercial value. Ability to independently read financial statements and assess financial position, challenges, and data.

  • Risk Identification and Mitigation – Aptitude to see and mitigate risks. Must possess strong quantitative, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

  • Strong Negotiation and Influencing Skills – Must be able to move easily between in different styles (Client, Internal and Tenant) depending on the situation.

  • Presentation Skills – Strong ability to confidently articulate and present internally (Executives) and externally (Clients, Tenants, and potential Tenants).

  • Self Sufficient – Ability to independently prepare presentations, materials, and analysis.

  • Professional Judgment – Proficiency to make appropriate business decisions, balance competing priorities and independently manage time demands to accomplish all goals.

  • Project Management and Collaboration Skills - Ability to collaborate with others, lead and influence cross-functional teams and manage through conflict. Attention to detail with proven ability to manage multiple projects and stakeholders simultaneously.

  • Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

  • Motivated, enthusiastic, creative and results oriented.

  • Must be a self-starter and possess a strong internal drive and initiative to produce results.

  • Must demonstrate exceptional verbal and written communication skills.

  • Must be proficient on basic Microsoft Office platform/Internet.

  • Must be organized and deadline driven.

Exempt

$120, 000 – $180, 000 + Discretionary Annual Bonus
