The Basics:

We are seeking a strategic, data-driven, and innovative Director of Talent Management to lead Tanium's global talent strategy during an exciting phase of growth and innovation. This leader will architect and scale world-class talent programs-spanning performance management, leadership development, succession planning, employee engagement, and internal mobility-with a strong focus on leveraging AI and advanced analytics to enhance talent outcomes. This is a highly visible role reporting to the Chief Talent Officer and collaborating closely with executive leadership, HRBPs, and cross-functional teams globally.

This is a hybrid position which will require in person attendance several days each week in our Emeryville, CA office.

What you'll do:
  • Talent Strategy & Planning
    • Design and lead Tanium's enterprise-wide talent management strategy aligned to business priorities and future capabilities.
    • Drive talent reviews, and succession strategies at all levels of leadership.
  • Performance & Growth
    • Enhance performance management processes that enable continuous feedback, goal alignment, and development.
    • Embed learning agility and high-impact development experiences into our performance cycle.
  • AI & Talent Analytics
    • Deploy and manage AI-driven tools and predictive analytics to assess talent risk, enhance succession pipelines, and optimize talent decisions.
    • Partner with other leaders on People team to operationalize AI across talent workflows.

We're looking for someone with:
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in Talent Management, Organizational Development, or HR Strategy within high-growth technology environments.
  • Proven track record leading enterprise talent programs across global teams.
  • Deep experience integrating AI/ML technologies into talent management, learning platforms, or workforce planning tools.
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to translate talent insights into strategic action.
  • Excellent influencing and stakeholder engagement skills at the executive level.
  • Advanced degree in Organizational Psychology, HR, Business, or related field preferred.

What you'll get

The annual base salary range for this full-time position is $145, 000 to $425, 000. This range is an estimate for what Tanium will pay a new hire. The actual annual base salary offered may be adjusted based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, location, education, skills, training, and experience.
