As a Procurement Data Analyst Intern, you will assist the procurement team in analyzing data related to purchasing activities, supplier performance, and inventory management. This internship provides a valuable opportunity to gain hands-on experience in data analysis within the context of utility-scale EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) projects, particularly in the energy sector.
Position Responsibilities and Duties: - Data Collection: Assist in gathering and organizing procurement data from various sources, including databases, spreadsheets, and procurement software.
- Data Analysis: Support the analysis of purchasing trends, supplier performance, and cost structures to identify opportunities for savings and process improvements.
- Reporting: Help create reports and visualizations that summarize procurement activities, spending patterns, and supplier evaluations for presentation to the procurement team.
- Supplier Research: Conduct research on potential suppliers, including evaluating their capabilities, pricing, and performance metrics.
- Inventory Tracking: Assist in monitoring inventory levels and procurement needs to ensure timely availability of materials for ongoing projects.
- Process Documentation: Help document procurement processes and maintain records of supplier contracts and agreements.
- Collaboration: Work closely with team members to support procurement initiatives and contribute to cross-functional projects.
- Learning and Development: Participate in training sessions and professional development opportunities to enhance your understanding of procurement and data analysis.
Minimum Skills or Experience Requirements: - Education: Currently pursuing a degree in Data Science, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Technical Skills: Basic proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, SQL) and familiarity with procurement software is a plus.
- Analytical Mindset: Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and provide insights.
- Attention to Detail: A meticulous approach to data entry and analysis to ensure accuracy.
- Communication Skills: Good verbal and written communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members.
- Adaptability: Willingness to learn and adapt to new tools, technologies, and processes.
Preferred Skills: - Knowledge of procurement principles and supply chain management.
- Familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) is advantageous but not required.
