This role is responsible for managing warranty obligations under executed contracts, services as the primary point of accountability resolving warranty claims, and developing a hybrid execution model that combines internal self-perform teams with qualified subcontractors.
The Director of Warranty Management will partner closely with Business Development, Engineering, Construction, Operations, Legal, Procurement, and Finance to ensure warranty issues are addressed consistently, professionally, and in alignment with contractual rights. This role plays a critical part in protecting asset performance, supporting customer relationships, and improving long-term warranty outcomes through disciplined execution and continuous improvement.
This leader owns the full lifecycle of warranty strategy, execution, financial performance, and risk management, ensuring maximum value realization from OEM, EPC, vendor, and service warranties while minimizing operational and financial exposure.

Position Responsibilities and Duties: Strategy & Leadership
- Develop and implement a national warranty execution strategy aligned with asset performance, operational efficiency, and financial objectives.
- Design, Build, & lead self-perform warranty teams capable of supporting field investigations, documentation, and coordination of warranty claims
- Coordinate and utilize internal O& M teams to complete warranty claims for efficiency, cost reduction, and quick resolution to improve customer satisfaction.
- Establish and manage a hybrid delivery model that balances internal self-perform capabilities with specialized subcontractors and service providers.
- Define standard warranty policies, standards, and performance metrics across regions and business units.
- Lead the team which serves as the primary point of coordination for warranty activities across PV, Energy Infrastructure (BESS, HV, Transmission), and TST projects.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a geographically distributed high-performing warranty team capable of working collaboratively across the organization with clear roles, accountability, and career development paths.
- Partner with senior leaders to align warranty execution priorities with operational and customer objectives.
Warranty Operations & Claims Management
- Oversee end-to-end warranty lifecycle management, including identification, validation, documentation, submission, coordination, negotiation, recovery, and close-out of claims.
- Drive consistent, repeatable processes across regions to ensure timely, accurate, and maximized warranty recoveries.
- Leverage internal self-perform teams to support site investigations, data collection, root-cause analysis (RCA), and claim documentation.
- Ensure the warranty team manages subcontractors performing warranty-related field work, inspections, testing, and corrective actions.
- Manage complex, high-value, and disputed claims, including negotiations with OEMs, EPCs, insurers, and third-party vendors and escalate to senior leadership as appropriate.
- Coordinate closely with Operations, Engineering, Legal, Finance, and Supply Chain teams.
- Ensure proper documentation, recordkeeping, and reporting for all warranty claims and resolutions.
Financial Performance & Risk Management
- Own warranty-related P& L impact, recovery targets, and forecasting across the portfolio.
- Quantify and report warranty exposure, recovery rates, aging, and risk trends to executive leadership.
- Partner with Finance and Legal to ensure appropriate accounting treatment, reserves, and contractual protections.
- Identify recurring issues, trends, and systemic risks and collaborate with Engineering, Quality, and Operations teams to drive corrective actions.
- Support proper documentation and coordination related to reserves, accruals, and financial reporting associated with warranty activity.
Contract & Vendor Management
- Partner with Legal, Procurement, and Engineering to influence warranty language, risk allocation, and commercial terms in new contracts.
- Independently lead existing EPC contract and subcontract analysis for compliance and dispute management. Train team members on complex contract analysis.
- Establish performance expectations and accountability mechanisms with OEMs, EPCs, and service providers.
- Establish scopes of work, pricing structures, and performance expectations for warranty-related subcontractors.
- Lead escalations and executive-level negotiations to resolve high-impact warranty disputes.
- Coordinate internal resources and external subcontractors to investigate, respond to, and resolve warranty issues.
Data, Systems & Continuous Improvement
- Implement and maintain a scalable warranty management systems, analytics, and dashboards.
- use data to improve visibility into trends, cycle times, recovery rates, predict failures, recurring issues, and inform asset strategy.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, cycle time, and financial results.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, audit requirements, and applicable regulatory standards.
Minimum Skills or Experience Requirements: - Minimum of 10+ years of experience in warranty management, construction management, contract administration, or a related role within EPC, energy, or infrastructure industries.
- Demonstrated experience managing warranty obligations for large, complex projects.
- Strong understanding of EPC contracts and warranty-related contractual responsibilities.
- Proven leadership experience managing geographically diverse teams and working cross-functionally with multiple business units.
- Experience managing subcontractors and third-party service providers.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and complex issues.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
- Financial acumen with experience creating and managing budgets.
- Proven experience leading enterprise-scale warranty programs with material financial impact.
Preferred Qualifications- Experience in utility-scale solar, energy storage, HV transmission, or related energy infrastructure projects.
- Experience managing subcontractors and supporting warranty-related dispute resolution.
- Experience supporting warranty-related dispute resolution in coordination with Legal teams.
- Experience developing or scaling warranty programs within a growing organization.
