Dietary Aide - Part-TimeSierra Valley Rehab CenterPay Range: $17.08-$17.48 per hourPosition SummaryThe Dietary Aide supports the Dietary Department in providing nutritious meals and excellent service to residents. Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Learn and follow food service routines within a short period of time.
- Set up and prepare meal trays according to diet orders and portion guidelines.
- Strip and break down returned trays and begin dishwashing procedures promptly.
- Assist with meal service during breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
- Check and record chlorine concentration and dishwasher water temperature at the beginning of each shift.
- Monitor dishwasher water temperatures during cycles to ensure sanitation standards are met.
- Operate dishwashing equipment safely and effectively.
- Prepare nourishments and snacks as assigned.
- Sweep, mop, and maintain kitchen floors.
- Clean work surfaces, refrigerators, and food preparation areas.
- Remove trash and garbage promptly and safely.
- Store groceries in a safe, orderly, and sanitary manner.
- Ensure the kitchen is left clean and sanitary at the end of each shift.
- Participate in orientation and ongoing training of dietary staff.
- Work cooperatively and harmoniously with all departments within the facility.

QualificationsEducation and Experience- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Prior food service experience in a healthcare or long-term care setting preferred, but not required.
Language Skills- Ability to read technical procedures.
- Ability to read and follow recipes.
- Ability to effectively communicate with managers and team members.
Mathematical Skills- Ability to apply fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions in food preparation and portion control.
Reasoning Ability- Ability to solve practical problems and interpret written, oral, diagram, or schedule-based instructions.
Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations- Must obtain and maintain a valid Food Handler's Certificate.
