Description:

  • Coordinate Resident Admissions: Assist with interviewing residents and obtaining necessary admission forms, signatures, and orientation in line with facility policies.
  • Manage Admission Records: Maintain accurate identification records, bed availability, and resident room assignments, and ensure information is distributed appropriately.
  • Handle Transfers and Discharges: Process resident admissions, transfers, and discharges according to established procedures and regulatory standards.
  • Provide and Review Admission Materials: Deliver and explain required admission packets, including resident rights, privacy notices, and contracts.
  • Maintain Resident Confidentiality: Protect and monitor the confidentiality of all resident care and personal information in compliance with HIPAA and facility policies.
  • Inventory Resident Valuables: Ensure proper documentation or signed releases for resident valuables upon admission.
  • Collaborate Across Departments: Establish effective working relationships with other departments and personnel to support smooth resident transitions.
  • Administrative Responsibility: Carry out all admitting coordinator duties with full administrative authority, accountability, and attention to detail.
  • Qualifications: Minimum of high school diploma or GED required; must type at least 35 WPM and use a 10-key calculator.
  • Physical & Work Environment: Must be able to sit, stand, walk, and occasionally lift up to 25 pounds; work environment is typically low to moderate in noise with frequent computer and office equipment use.
