Dietary Cook (Part-Time)

San Bruno Skilled Nursing is looking for a skilled and passionate Dietary Cook to join our culinary team! If you have experience in healthcare-focused kitchens and a commitment to food safety and quality, we want to meet you.

Position Details

• Pay Rate: $22.50 - $24.00 per hour
• Schedule: Part-Time | Saturday & Sunday (16 hours total)
• Shift: AM Shift (5: 30 am - 2: 00 pm)
• Start Date: Late May 2026

The Role

As a Dietary Cook, you will be responsible for preparing nutritious, high-quality meals according to established recipes and specific dietary guidelines. You play a vital role in the health of our residents by ensuring every meal is prepared safely and presented beautifully.

Essential Duties

• Prepare meals in strict adherence to standardized recipes and resident dietary restrictions.
• Maintain the highest standards of food safety, sanitation, and kitchen organization.
• Follow technical procedures for food preparation and equipment use.
• Communicate effectively with management and staff to ensure seamless meal service.
• Maintain availability for weekend shifts, with the flexibility to provide extra weekday help if needed.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, candidates must possess:

• Experience: Proven cooking experience in a skilled nursing facility (SNF), hospital, restaurant, or hotel. (Healthcare experience is highly preferred).
• Proficiency: Ability to read technical procedures and follow specific recipes without direct supervision.
• Skills: Strong communication skills and the ability to professionally respond to inquiries from staff and managers.
• Certification: A valid Food Handlers Card.
• Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
