Job Description

Works under the direct supervision of the Assistant Chief Engineer, and will perform non-technical and non-skilled labor, including but not limited to: minor repairs, painting, assemble and disassemble minor equipment, gardening and maintenance cleanup.

  • Painting, assembly and disassembly of minor equipment and furniture.


  • Unplug toilets and drains using manually operated tools.


  • Assemble and install minor equipment such as shelves, bulletin boards, cabinets, desks, chairs, and the relocation of the same.


  • Miscellaneous cleaning and minor disassembly of light fixtures, ventilation louvers, and associated plenums/ducts, safety cleaning at engineering sites, cleaning of small appliances and plant operation spaces and equipment.


  • Replace light bulbs, covers, lenses, replace broken switch plates and electrical outlet covers.


  • Minor plumbing fixture repairs such as replacement of operating handles, washers and toilet seats and can assist in to replacement of defect fixtures.


  • Change filters, clean coils, grills and radiators using the appropriate cleaning equipment.


  • Collects and disposes of refuse around premises, wash sidewalks, driveways and parking structure floors using high-pressure power sprayers.


  • Assists with landscaping and sprinkler systems, i.e. repair, install.


  • Change filters, clean coils, grills and radiators using the appropriate cleaning equipment.


  • Performs other duties as assigned.


Education: Work requires a high school diploma or GED.

Licensure: Valid California Driver's License required.

Experience: At least two (2) years in a maintenance related setting preferred.

The hourly rate for this position is $39.81. The range displayed on this job posting reflects the target for new hire salaries for this position.
