Rehab Services

The Rehabilitation Supervisor is a leader within the Rehab Services department and works under the supervision of the Manager/Director of Rehabilitation Services and is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the department, including staffing, requisition, maintenance, and inventory of clinic equipment and supplies. Plans, establishes and revises work assignments and schedules. Uses evidence-based knowledge in decision making to improve and maintain high-quality cost-effective patient care.

The Supervisor is responsible and accountable for clinical program development/implementation, staff development, and daily patient care delivery for the department. Assesses the effectiveness of and compliance to departmental policies, procedures and protocols of clinical and support staff. Provides direct patient care and must interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to his/her age-specific needs and to provide the care needed as described in the department's policies and procedures.

  • Provides leadership and supervision regarding departmental performance by completing evaluations, maintaining staff competency and development, adequate staffing, and assures all work in specified areas is completed while maintaining a high level of quality. Counsels and disciplines as necessary. Responds and follows up regarding staff concerns in a timely manner.

  • Is a role model for departmental behavior, and provides and promotes a positive working environment for departmental staff to ensure strong employee morale, motivation and productivity. Participates in performance improvement projects.

  • Supervises the day-to-day workflow to ensure the department's role and function in the Healthcare System supports the delivery of the highest possible standard of patient care, and customer service for staff and visitors within the available resources. Monitors quality assurance.

  • Serves as a resource in departmental/Hospital policies and procedures.

  • Serves as Department Manager/ Director in his/her absence.

  • Maintains department continuity by ensuring communication with staff and Manager/Director.

  • Ensures that all department staff are current on all required licenses and training.

  • Performs quality assurance checks on treatments and procedures.

  • Maintains effective communication throughout the department.

  • Performs other duties as assigned


Education: Bachelor's degree in a therapy discipline (PT, OT) required. Or a Master's degree in Speech Pathology from an accredited university required.

Licensure: Current California state Physical Therapy (PT), Occupational Therapy (OT) or Speech Pathology (SLP) license required. Current BLS/Healthcare Provider status as per American Heart Association standards.

Experience: Three (3) years clinical acute care experience required. One (1) year supervisory experience.

The hourly rate for this position is $54.18 - $74.50. The range displayed on this job posting reflects the target for new hire salaries for this position.
