Department:
General Accounting

Works under the supervision of the Payroll Manager. Supports the quality, analytical and business functions of the Accounting department. Performs audits of payroll transactions, payroll data. . Performs basic accounting functions including routine journal entries, assist with balance sheet and bank reconciliations. Also, helps in preparing for the annual financial audit, preparing government reports and other analytical reports as needed. Supports the Accounting

Performs audits of payroll transactions.
  • Prepares detailed reconciliations of various balance sheet accounts. . Assists in the monthly financial close recording routine accounting entries. Maintains accurate and up-to-date financial records, including journal entries and financial statements.
  • Assists with the preparation of the cost report, OSHPD and other annual and quarterly reports.
  • Act as a liaison between accounting and internal or external parties.
  • Provides troubleshooting of the system to ensure efficient utilization. Helps trouble shoot and correct system issues.
  • Assists with training and coordinating implementation of time tracking, staffing, and productivity software in ancillary departments to facilitate competent utilization of the software.
  • Supports the Payroll Manager and Payroll Supervisor on an as needed basis, with the knowledge to complete several of the daily operational needs including payroll processing and related tasks.
  • Assists as needed with the quarterly payroll wage reporting requirements to both the Federal and State agencies, including tax preparation and ensuring compliance with tax regulations.
  • Assists with balancing and producing the employees W2's
  • Assists with Year End and, Quarter End tasks.
  • Support audits and resolves discrepancies.
  • Assists on special projects and performs other duties as assigned.


Education: Associates' degree in business or accounting related field required, or in lieu of an Associate's degree, a high school diploma or GED required with four (4) years' experience in a healthcare environment.

Licensure: None.

Experience: A minimum of 4 years' experience in a healthcare environment required, with Workday experience preferred. Proven, successful experience in education/training. Excellent technical, managerial and interpersonal skills, including knowledge of payroll, accounts payable, basic accounting and use of Excel.

Pay Range: The hourly rate for this position is $36.67 - $50.43. The range displayed on this job posting reflects the target for new hire salaries for this position.
