Description:

Delta Landing is a public/private partnership with Contra Costa Health Services Homeless Program. Our mission is to provide safe interim housing with comprehensive services that support individuals experiencing homelessness in securing permanent housing. We respect human dignity and believe housing is a fundamental right supported through advocacy and collaboration. The Senior Maintenance position oversees and coordinates all maintenance operations at the Delta Landing facility, a 172-room property. This role is responsible for supervising maintenance staff, managing work order systems, scheduling maintenance activities, and ensuring that all facilities are clean, safe, functional, and well-maintained.

The Senior Maintenance ensures the timely completion of repairs, preventative maintenance, and facility improvements while maintaining compliance with agency standards and applicable regulations. This position works closely with the Senior Site Supervisor, Public Works and external vendors to maintain high-quality facilities that support the agency’s mission.

Salary: $32.69 - $34.61 Hourly

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Supervise and coordinate the work of Maintenance Technicians across agency programs and housing sites.
  • Develop and manage staff schedules to ensure adequate maintenance coverage.
  • Assign, prioritize, and track maintenance requests using the agency’s work order system to ensure timely completion.
  • Conduct routine inspections of facilities to ensure safety, cleanliness, and compliance with agency standards.
  • Provide technical guidance, training, and oversight to maintenance staff to ensure quality and consistency.
  • Develop and implement preventative maintenance schedules for building systems, appliances, safety equipment, and infrastructure.
  • Collaborate with leadership to plan and execute repairs, capital improvements, and facility upgrades.
  • Obtain bids and oversee vendors and contractors for major repairs and specialized services.
  • Monitor maintenance trends and identify recurring issues; recommend cost-effective and preventative solutions.
  • Ensure timely response to emergency maintenance issues and oversee resolution.
  • Showing care and concern for our clients through excellence in work order resolution and preventative maintenance
  • Maintain vendor relationships and build a reliable network of service providers.
  • Track maintenance activities, inventory, and supply usage.
  • Ensure adherence to all safety protocols, agency policies, and regulatory requirements.
  • Support unit turnover by ensuring vacant units is prepared for occupancy in a timely manner.
  • Participate in meetings, training, and cross-department coordination as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

  • Prior supervisory or lead experience preferred
  • Must have reliable transportation and personal tools
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Demonstrated dependability and accountability
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Ability to adapt to varying schedules, sites, and operational needs
  • Ability to lift-up to 50 pounds and perform physical labor
  • Ability to assess and troubleshoot maintenance issues effectively
  • Must pass background check and fingerprint clearance

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Associate’s degree (AA) preferred
  • 5 years minimum of maintenance experience (with references)

CERTIFICATES / LICENSES / CLEARANCES

  • Valid California Driver’s License
  • Proof of current automobile insurance
  • Be fingerprinted and pass a criminal background check

  • Bilingual/Bicultural (Spanish preferred)
  • Lived experience with homelessness and/or behavioral health services
  • Knowledge of Contra Costa County resources and service systems
  • Familiarity with emergency provider networks
  • Experience with documentation, reporting, or billing systems
