Description:

Heluna Health invites applications for the temporary position of Research Associate in the Center on Substance Use and Health of the San Francisco Department of Public Health.

Under the supervision of the Clinical Research Program Manager, this Part-time Research Associate position will be responsible for analyzing data and preparing manuscripts from a psychological autopsy study addressing stimulant use and acute toxicity deaths attributed to stimulants. Analyses will include qualitative and quantitative data.

This is a temporary (through September 2025), grant-funded, part-time (32 hours), benefitted position. Employment is provided by Heluna Health.

Pay range: $31.25-$34.45per hour

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Conduct qualitative and quantitative analyses of interview data and psychological autopsy data addressing stimulant use and death due to acute stimulant toxicity, under the supervision of senior analysts.
  • Prepare and submit publications and/or presentations of results.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Qualifications

  • BA/BS in related field
  • At least 1 year of experience conducting research into the use of stimulant drugs
  • At least 1 year of experience with psychological autopsy research
  • At least 1 year of experience with qualitative research methodologies
  • At least 1 year of graduate-level coursework in quantitative analysis methods
  • Knowledge of and sensitivity to diverse communities, particularly communities of color and the gay/lesbian/bisexual/transgender community
  • High level of attention to detail and ability to handle a variety of tasks with a high degree of accuracy
  • Knowledge of regulations, policies and procedures related to the protection of human subjects and confidentiality

Desired Qualifications

  • Excellent writing and interpersonal communication skills
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Access and REDCap
