Description:

The Center for Learning and Innovation (CLI) is a branch within the Population Health Division (PHD) at the San Francisco Department of Public Health that is dedicated to fostering a culture of learning, trust, and innovation CLI organizes several programs focused on 1) internal training and workforce development; 2) recruitment of the future public health workforce through meaningful internships; and 3) capacity building for external public health agencies and related stakeholders.

Under the direction of the CLI People Development Manager, the CLI Coordinator serves as the cross-team operational and administrative lead for the Branch. CLI is largely a grant funded organization with several active grants from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (Capacity Building Assistance in HIV Prevention and the Public Health Infrastructure Grant, known locally as Project INVEST) and the National Institutes of Health (the Summer HIV/AIDS Research Program, SHARP). CLI also supports the implementation of the Division’s Workforce Development Plan.

This is a temporary, grant-funded, Full time, benefitted position. Employment is provided by Heluna Health.

Pay Range: $38.01-$41.91 per hour

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
The CLI Coordinator’s role will be dedicated to three core functional areas:
• Will provide support to CLI managers (People Development Team Manager and Capacity Building Assistance Manager) and CLI Director, to ensure smooth fiscal and operational implementation of programs (40%)

• Will provide administrative and logistic support for Pathway Programs: SHARP (Summer of HIV & AIDS Research Program, Population Health Fellows, etc.) (40 %)
• Will provide administrative support for Project INVEST, including the PHD Boost Award mini-grant Program (20%)

• Provide core administrative support for the programs above, including, but not limited to, scheduling conference calls and meetings, logistical support, submitting purchase orders, and supporting team huddles
•Provide key administrative support for CLI Pathway Programs, including PHD Population Health Fellows and SHARP scholars.
•Maintain CLI Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and standard work processes which involves collaboratively developing new and updating existing SOPs with CLI, and where relevant, PHD Operations staff
• Develop and sustain a CLI Knowledge Management program that relies on SharePoint, Teams and other shared drives to organize and ensure ready access to essential documents and resources
• Process credit card payments and ensure timely staff reimbursement
• Track inventory of key CLI supplies and work with program leads, PHD Operations, and IT to ensure CLI staff and interns have their space, and equipment needs met to support successful in-person and remote work
• Manage CLI weekly huddle calendar, including a rotating facilitation schedule

NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
• Manage the CLI Lending Library
• Support CLI teams to host successful onsite and online training events
• Other duties as assigned

JOB QUALIFICATIONS
• Experience working on HIV and/or public health issues with diverse racial/ethnic communities, particularly communities of color, immigrants and gay/lesbian/bisexual/transgender communities
• Experience with Project Management software (e.g. Trelo, Asana, Microsoft Project and Planner)

• Proficiency with meeting scheduling applications (e.g., Doodle, Calendly), as well as Microsoft SharePoint and videoconferencing software (e.g., Zoom, Teams)
• Experience liaising with contractors and vendors and managing budgets
• Experience with grant preparation and reporting, including CDC and NIH grants
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Teams

Education/Experience
• Bachelor’s degree, preferably with a public health or public administration focus
• A minimum of 2 years of administrative or operations experience
