Job Description:
- Treat patients as directed by the Occupational Therapist.
- Record daily treatment notes and weekly progress notes per Occupational Therapy Board requirements.
- Implement treatment plans per the physician's orders.
- Assist the nursing department with training of Restorative Aides.
- Communicate with supervisors and other health team members regarding patient progress, problems, and plans.
- Participate in in-service training programs for other staff in the facility.
- Record evaluations, daily treatment notes, weekly progress notes, and recertification documentation per the Occupational Therapy Board State Practice Act and governmental and third-party payer requirements.
- Document treatment changes according to policies and procedures.
- Instruct patients' families or nursing staff in maintenance programs and caregiver training in preparation for discharge from therapy services.
- Participate in discharge planning efforts.
- Assist with the cleaning and maintenance of the treatment area.
- Report any issues with department equipment to ensure it is maintained in good working order.
- Establish positive, effective relationships with patients/residents, families, staff, and professional colleagues.
Required License or Certification
- Valid Occupational Therapist Assistant License
