Position Summary

The Maintenance Assistant helps maintain the facility, grounds, and equipment in a safe, efficient, and well-functioning condition. This role supports daily maintenance operations and works closely with nursing and leadership teams to ensure resident comfort, safety, and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs (plumbing, electrical, carpentry, HVAC, and general upkeep)
  • Maintain grounds, parking areas, and common spaces
  • Replace light bulbs, clean windows/screens, and perform general facility upkeep
  • Respond to maintenance requests and assist with unscheduled repairs as needed
  • Follow maintenance schedules, safety procedures, and infection control guidelines
  • Coordinate maintenance work with nursing staff in resident care areas
  • Report equipment issues, safety concerns, and incidents promptly
  • Maintain cleanliness and proper storage of tools and equipment

Qualifications
  • Maintenance or general facilities experience preferred
  • Strong work ethic, dependability, and teamwork skills
  • Ability to follow safety procedures and maintenance schedules
  • Willingness to learn and grow within the role
  • Respect for resident privacy and confidentiality
